What is it about the word "hip" that seems to convey a Mistunderstanding about current themes then an Understanding? I always though that people were kidding when they said that the media is trying to appeal to the mis-represented likes of our youth. I seemed to have made a gross underestimate, my god. It's like some terrible joke gone wrong, bugs bunny is A BUNNY. He is not a super hero, he does not have super powers other then his wit (and the lack of physics that apply to the TV world). Feel that wrenching feeling in the pit of your stomach? That's the feeling of your inner child being savagely beaten by your treacherous eyes.

the old WB cartoons... most of the really older ones, nd lots were editted.. coyote/road runner toons were edited.. pay attention, the scenes now usually fade out before coyote really gets crushed nd whatnot
Man poor Chuck Jones. 3 years in the grave too early to prevent his precious creation from being (w word for prostitute) by greedy sacrilegious corporate toads like so much refuse. Poor ****ing Chuck.
Blame anime. Anime is the largest and most influential animation trend in history, and our old favorite WB characters are simply just another victim of the "neo-anime" animation trend that the animators here in the USA are using these days. Sharp edges, cool voices, and PC are all the rage, with simple slapstick thrown aside.
11 year old kids aren't interested in Wiley getting cliff-owned; they want to see Super Hot Ninja Roadrunner bash Ultimate Power Wiley into a mountain as they fight in the air, shooting energy beams at each other and shouting out horribly written dialogue.
If I was WB, I'd have done this three years ago. As much as we don't like it, they don't care. And that's OK.

I've had the pleasure of watching a lot of little kids grow up in my scout troop. I've found that to a point, kids are annoying in direct proportion to how annoying their cartoons are. It just seems to keep getting worse.
I loved what somebody in pixar said about the incredibles when people asked about how they make movies that appeal so well to all ages. It was something along the lines of "Kids don't actively like bad plots more than good ones, they just can't tell the difference. So we make the movies that we would want to watch, then just make sure there isn't anything objectionable in them."
Why the hell can't they do this in more of the industry? Shows like Batman: The Animated Series for instance, and Xmen actually had reasonably adult plots, and we ate them up! At the point that I have kids, I'm really not going to want them watching any of this crap. I'll let them on principles, but I'm not going to want my kids imitating such annoying styless characters. For christ's sake, lets teach our kids taste!
