this is a MvM map based on ctf-suddendrop for unreal tournament. its extremely basic, so dont say OMG BOXY!

i had the author contact me on porting it to duke3d saying it looked great, also he said he didnt mind if i ported it to another game.

since the ut version was made entirely out of this horrid grey brick texture, i expanded on that and used egyptian theme textures. the map is about 75% done, still have some work to do on the elevators and the top of the map.

its basically a MvM funmap, i dont really plan on making it look anywhere near as good as some of these other maps, probably because i lack the talent to tounge.gif

    it cant be as bad as some of the maps people make. for instance the ones that didnt have rad run on them? lol

    What more can I say? Yeah, it's boxy and doesn't even use ns textures. All it has is the same wall texture over and over. You really should try to create a real map to avoid people flaming you, as these kind of maps aren't really welcome here.

    i had a 3 hour playtest with about 24 people spanned out over that time (10 max player slots)

    they all loved it, all except for the hall that goes from the back of one base to another. had to block it off a few times with entmod.

    oh, by the way if you want detail in that map, go out and buy a radeon x850 and an athlon 64 4000+ because the w_polys are around 500-1000 at any given time. i had more detail in the map, but they were around 3000-4500. your choice.

    Peple don't like crap, espically mappers who spend weeks or months working on a map that doesn't get played while some **** comes in and makes a box in 15 minutes that gets played on crappy servers populated by 11 year olds.

    Dude, you have some serious problems with the map if your getting that, try hint brushes or something. I'm not complaining or flaming about the map, but thats way to high for some boxes.

    Wasn't my intention. Just the detail in this map doesn't surpass doom and thats what's bothering me about it, since it isn't 1993.

    Btw 500-1000 r_speeds for this low detail map is bad brushwork and usage of vis-blocking user posted image

    and I was a naive to think that this kind of ... thing (never ever use the term "map" for such again!) will just die after the co-mode showed up and "flashbanged" us with loads of detailed maps.

    it took about a week to make it, not 5 minutes. more or less because i spent about 2 hours on it at a time. for me gameplay > looks of map. and for the people that liked to play it, good for them. i could care less about your opinions if all you have done is looked at the screenshots and not played the map with at least 16 other players at the same time.

    and the last time i checked this was the mapping forum, not the flaming forum, so if you dont have something nice to say then shut the hell up.
