New Comp=lag

<div class="IPBDescription">WTH....</div> Ok I have recently got a new comp and for some weird reason NS lags alot on it (as in 500-900 ping avg) while I can play cs:source with only 40-50 ping. It certainly isn't my connection (ADSL). Perhaps its something about the comp or the graphics card?

Specs:

AMD athlon 64 3200+ 2.00ghz
512 mb ram
Windows XP home edition
Geforce FX 5200 is the graphics card

rate "25000" tends to work well for me. Even though im on cable. If that doesnt work then try the rate at 9999.

Just pull down your console while ingame or out game and type

rate "9999"
