Are you sure that they're not going to return? All they need to do is bring up the authentication system and the server's will just get the icon list for consti's and vet's.
They disbanded the Veteran program, if I remember correctly. Either that or they just cut the Veterans out of the playtesting process; I can't be sure.

Thus, the Vets, Beta Server Ops, and Guides were taken out to streamline it.

Will this be permanent or until the database is stable and running smoothly?
Never know, there might be a time that they'll bring the vet program back and have it running correctly again... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Thanks for trying to defend me Nem, but they weren't removed for performance reasons. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
The Vet icons, Server Op icons and Guide icons were all removed during the switch because the programs aren't active. I'm sorry about revoking icons like this, but it just didn't seem like it was worth the effort to preserve (especially with the huge number of e-mails generated by even just the Constellation members).
We learned a lot from the Vet program. We got a lot of great feedback, but also learned that it was a HUGE amount of work to manage and maintain.

Which means: Gone forever.
