Anyway, I can finally play online again, already played TFC for a fair amount of time and... well I miss all my old .cfg's took me hours and hours of work tested over months to get them perfect.

Nearly all ISP's post a limit, its just ussually so high that no average user would need to worry about. With 30gigs you will find it hard to crash out unless you DL full lenght movies back to back for a long time. I have a 625MB a week limit and I haven't come close to touching it ever yet, all I had to do was not try to start exorbitantly large downloads all the time.

I have 2mbit/512k with 10 GB limit. And that's only because they made a mistake when we moved houses, I should be on 5GB! This is about $NZD 80 or $US 55.

Maybe your just not looking hard enough

As for the limit, I've found I've passed certain limits on my connection numerous times. They don't cut you off. They just charge you more.

Seconded. My ISP clearly states that I pay a monthly fee with unlimited traffic in both ways. The only limited thing is the web space they provide.

i saw an aol advert which said

'we dont have a download limit unlike many other uk broadband providers' errr... i have had 6 isps in the last year. let alone 2 years (problems with phone company) in short alot. since i started on adsl.... and not one has has a dl cap.. and before getting one i would also browse to see which was best.. and none of them had caps either.. so i am looking hard enough

Germany is about the same. Just that unlimited flatrates are about 50 bucks (including all the other stuff you need to surf like isdn and so on) while limited are about 10-20 bucks a month.

They do, NTL is capped at 2Gb a day, if you go voer twice in 14 days they send you an angry letter, athlough I think they may have uped this since they were doing some upgrades from 512 to 768k or somethin.

Moquiao, Im English and that was one of the highest limits I could get (unless I wanted to go with AOL in which case I think I could only get 512k, not 1MB. Pretty much all of the ISPs have a limit.

I feel safe in saying all Australian ISP's have limits. Some say they're unlimited but really they offer you a set number of Gb a month and when you hit that they drop your speed to a little above 56k.

Internet here is really quite backward compared to most other countries. GG Tel$tra

Heh. I remember actually calling the ISP, when we got broadband a long time ago, and asking if the traffic will be extra-charged in any way. They said no. I can download/upload as much as I want and can with the current speed. Subscription stays the same.

When they say "no limit" they usualy mean "you can can dl as much as you want, but if you abuse our fair use limit we will rape your dog".
They let you dl as much as you want but if they feel abused by your enourmous traffic use, they will cancel your intardnet.

I have some limit, I once got a phone call when I started downloading the entire Ruroni Kenshin series, they are like:

"Yo, can you lay off the movies for the rest of the month?"

and I'm liek:

"Ya, sorry, want me to send you some Ruroni Kenshin though?"

Him:

"Yes plz, my gmail is ______"

EDITZ: Congrats, btw
