    Bush has won, make no mistake, the only reason they are holding out declaring who has 270 so they can keep viewers. Pretty good idea really. Already some left wing Europeans seem to think we are tolieting our country and that we are "too stupid to vote" blah blah blah. Expect protests thats a definate.

    People who don't agree with Bush's policies need to think for a moment on how they conduct things, enough with the hatred the voter intimdation, the smashing up of headquarters, and the insults, and we will be much better off as a country.

    Anyway w00t w00t w00t!

    Also Bush this year has received more votes then Reagan did in the popular vote.

    I must confirm my greatest fear. UZI is right, push has probably won. He's currently leading in ohio, and kerry has lost new mexico.

    UZI the only reason he has got loads of votes is because the turnout is higher than ever, he's not some kind of demigod.

    Of course the voter turnout is high, and college professors all around the country state that the "nonvoting majority" most likely will vote for democrats. ( I never believed this).

    This election also displays the fairness of the electoral college system.

    Well, essentially yes. But it's fair for the minority.

    If we had a popular vote, only 11 states would need to vote to decide the president. It falls into the "Mob Rule" catagory. We are a hugemugous country, this gives all the states and territories a equal vote.

    Well, it IS democracy that one citizen vote wieghts the same, with the el. vote some voices across the states weight more than others, and really, I doubt a candidate would favour a state over another.

    If all the votes for each party were totalled up and the percentage each party got was then represented in a house of parliament by the parties chosen representatives which would in turn have the same percentage of a vote in major political issues?

    A Parliment is a effective form of a democratic government, but Republic is a much freer form of government.

    In regards to the Electoral college, try as some people might, (well over 100 times) to change it, it will always exist.

    Think of it sorta like our Senate, each state regardless of size gets two senators to represent it. The electoral college was partly why it took so long to ratify the constitution.

    Of course it is. duh. I'm not the web designer though. I told him a long long time ago to remove that quote. But for all I care it's true, look at his voting record.

    I am perfectly stable, perfectly clear on my views. I have no rabid hatred for a candidate, I dont froth at the mouth while claiming that America and the world is completely doomed now that Bush is back.

    I wish I could say the same for the staple anti-Bushite. Unfortunately, their little diatribes, unlike my particularly ungraceful and immature one before, cant get by without mentioning "apocalypse, war-mongering, blood-for-oil, murder, stupid, zealot".

    All of which make me think this man is vastly unestimated - and goes to prove what I said before the election. Blind hatred will get you no where in an election - it just makes people resentful if they kinda dont agree with you, and it never picks you up any extra support. It pushes away potential supporters, and does nothing for those who agree with you.
