I wish I could say that I was surprised at the current results, but I'm not. Considering that half the country still thinks that Saddam had something to do with 9/11, this election is just more salt in the gaping wound that is my opinion of people's intelligence.

I keep asking how I'm going to make the world a better place, but the question I'm asking now is, does the world deserve it? Time to start stocking up on beans and assault rifles.

Oh please, maybe you guys haven't considered that people vote republican because they don't want their country to become more socialist?

Have you even considered for ONE second that people don't like taxes, they don't like social programs, and they think everymanforhimself capitialism is a good thing?

Good god the ignorance here is irrational

Sure, but then why don't they vote Libertarian and leave out the fundamentalism and constitution shreading?

It's basically up to who gets Ohio now...and the last 12% of precincts. It will look the same as last election if Bush gets Ohio.

[edit]...except New Hampshire...but they've got basically no votes anyway . If the last 12 percent are for Kerry, then Kerry would have Ohio .

[but we all know, looking at the county layout on CNN, that's not going to happen]

Now, we just have all those...messed up lawsuits flying around in Indiana, Ohio and other places...

Which is why everyone is so confident.

As for the lawsuits, I don't think it's going to be nearly as big a problem as predicted; this is looking like a fairly clean cut victory for Bush so far.

So far it seems like New Mexico is Bush's last state for him...but Wisconsin, New Mexico, Nevada and Iowa (maybe Hawaii too?) are all around 50% in.

[What would be funny: one of those states that's 65% in gets a bunch of Kerry votes and screws all the CNN, MSNBC and FOX predictions up. ]

False hope is worse than no hope at all. Just gather all the alchohol you can and see if you can spend the next 4 torturous years too drunk to see straight. Who knows? The way things are going, by the time you wake up it could be illegal to be liberal.

If you were to take BBC's map at this very moment and completely stop adding new ballots, it would be 274 (Bush) to 264 (Kerry).

[edit]Scratch that, Nevada just flipped from 49.4 v 49.1 to 49.1 v 49.4; this would change the above to 279 v 259. If that state had more electoral college votes, its closeness woudl definitely be a big story for news stations.

How is it for other sites? I can't have everything open at once and still be here to babysit you guys

....maybe 269v269 with the Repbulicans voting in Bush.

But I doubt it. All I can do is hope he doesn't jack up my tuition costs and start any more wars before finishing one of the ones in progress.

Plus: We're guaranteed not to get him again, so either way, it's a win-win situation next time I vote .

Bah, I'm angry at Ohio and Florida, because they're so retarded. There's like 50 different "GET OUT AND VOTE" programs, and then they get a bunch of people. Now no one's going to vote next time because they'll be **** they had to wait last time...or that the electronic machines screwed them over or something.

Convienently enough: I had absoultely no wait and my county had about a 70% voter turnout .

For some reason Bush's presidency reminds me slightly of reagen's presidency, except that reagan I loved.

Maybe Bush can do a great job for conservatives now that he's in his last 4 fearless years?

I hate to break it too you, but you Europeans aint that special. Why would America want to take responsibility for a bunch of leftwing whiners? You aint got oil, you aint got dictators - you are actually selecting your leaders so Americans believe you deserve exactly what you get. Your post indicates that you are familiar with the concept of irony, are you?
Then you should recognize it when it strikes you with a hammer...

    besides:
It was, of course, US sense for justice that made them intervene in WW1. Surely it was not relied to their economical intersts in their British trade partners which they supplied in their war and earned big cash with. Sure it was not because the estern front broke down due to the soviet revolution and the subsequent declaration of peace. Of course they tried to free Europe from the "tyranny" of German monarchy, it was not because the British and French feared a final shift of power because of the 4 million soldiers returning from Russia and now marching to the western front.....No. Surely, they were not interested in their economical involvements in Europe that were directly liked with the british war efforts.....no, of course not.

Also, the US did of course not supply military and industrial equipment to both Britain and German companies prior to WW2. Sure they did not earn billions with Nazis-Germans preparations for their war....no, of course not...history tells us otherwhise does it?

Or maybe, just maybe... do you just not read history carefully enough?
Maybe you should read some books exept shool history lessons which tell you Germany started 2 wars and America saved the world, but try to understand the connections behind these wars. Maybe then you will see some current political involvements in a different light....

What are you guys talking about? Nuking Europe? Back to reality please.

Very close election so far. Hopefully it's wrapped up this afternoon, and doesn't drag on into a month long court case.

It really would be funny if Bush wins the popular vote but loses in electoral colleges. I know it's not likely, but fingers crossed.

I heard someone mention this morning that something like 1/10 18-26 year olds voted this year.

If that's true, then I suppose either none of them care or they get what they deserve.

I think that's understated. A ton of people 18-26 (such as myself) voted absentee, and in most states those haven't been counted yet.
