They also got a (suspiciously?) high number of voters, considering its just a poll from a random corner of the internet. Did they get linked to from a major site?

Mr Google has the answer.... <a href='http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=100&hl=en&safe=off&q=link%3A+www.betavote.com%2F&btnG=Search' target='_blank'>http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=100&hl=...%2F&btnG=Search</a>
Well of course they're not accurately representative of the whole world. Firstly the whole world don't know who these two candidates vieing for US Presidential election are. Secondly not everyone in the world has a PC, let alone access to one, LET ALONE the internet. Thirdly not everyone knows about this site and finally if they did visit not everyone would vote.
Additionally it seems possible to log more than one vote.
I get this error when i try to acces <a href='http://www.georgewbush.com/' target='_blank'>http://www.georgewbush.com/</a> :/ <img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/jumpingjoda/doh.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' /> Well, the last part was edited. Meh.
This site is blocked for all viewers not inhabited in the USA (or at least for all europeans, that all i know, but i think bush may have blocked it for all!)

And there are such huge numbers of voters b/c this has been around for a LONG time now. Its nothing new.
When i first voted some countries didnt even have numbers yet.

gg press freedom GWbush ^^ <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> As far as i know, it was done to reduce traffic so US peeps can access the site more reliably.
But if you think about it, it'd also help prevent some asshats from DOSing the server on election day.
Just take the "www" out and it should go through.
<a href='http://www.electoral-vote.com/' target='_blank'>this</a> site seems pretty cool for vote prediction, on a side note.
People always paste the pictures around on Fark when Kerry is in the lead, but when it swings the other way they strangely go silent... lol

Why even bother?
United States John Kerry by 51%
