Okey,
Old concept I've got now, gonna start working on it when I get home. This is the main sorta picture thingy.

Basically, it's a grenade launcher, that is actually like strapped onto a marines hand. If you guys have any other ideas for it, please post them here.

I like the idea. It'll kill the plausibility a bit with those tiny little grenades, but it's fresh. I hope we see some screenies soon.

Maybe you could have it larger and strapped to the forearm? Or, you could put one on each hand for grenade launchers akimbo.

[EDIT] I didn't mean to say "realism" there, I meant to say "plausibility"[/EDIT]

Hehehe can you have realism when we're talking about xxxx many years in the future Anything goes if it's got a decent, creative mind behind it!

bout time someone realises this. I make a lot of my models based on sci-fi fantasy yet someone always complains about the lack of realism and how the gun wouldnt work.

Go for it, make the model and screw all those who oppose

Thats silly, I love un-realistic guns, and this one will no doubt be any execption.

That's actually what I intended in the first place - a weapon that would cover the whole right arm.

yeah alot of us here have a problem with unrealistic guns. Not meaning they cant be futuristic and such, but we just like them to be plausable

that g/l? its ok, cool idea, but i dont like how it appears the triggers are. idk, maybe make four buttons on the back as triggers? meh

    Yeah,
Well it will be on the right forearm, not just the hand.

I'm not too sure about the trigger yet

I was thinking mayby if he had a little remote in his hand, with a button on the side that was sorta the trigger.....But it might look kinda clumsy......*Insert ideas here*

Also, I might need to sorta release this as a pack, since it is attached to his marine suit, it should if it's going to be somewhat realistic, show up for the LMG, pistol, etc, models. But that would take ages.....and it probably wouldn't be worth it.......*Insert ideas here*

Oh, I almost forgot, I wanna make a left hand and right hand model (just for all you special left handed people out there ). I can't figure out if it would work if I just did a simple mirror image sorta thing (Can't remember what it's called in milkshape...) or would that distort it....?

Anyway, as soon as I can be bothered to register Milkshape (Probably tonight) I'll start it and get a screenie up ASAP!

    KTHXBI!

I'd say for the trigger, have the marine close his hand into a fist really fast/hard. That or just a simple trigger on the forearm which he pushes with his other hand.

And I really do hope you go with all the weapons for this. Be a great pack. Hell, if I can, I'll help with this. I have very crude knowledge of modeling/animating/meshing. Did it a lot long time ago for CS, but haven't done much since. But yeah, up to you.

Depending on how you go with the trigger, you could have it so the LMG would be one handed and once upgraded to HMG you'd used both hands.

With it being in the future and all, I would imagine the trigger could be hand gestures. They have it for keyboards now a days. Like the primary weapon would be ontop and trigger with a closed fist and just a simple movement of the thumb upwards. For full auto you just hold your thumb up. For the pistol is could be under the forearm and trigger everytime the hand is rotated upward and the fingers fully stretched. The knife? Lets be manly here, no knife, just a mean fist of beating.

You following me on that? There would be an arming gesture to activate the weapon (closed fist/hand rotated up) and a trigger to fire (thumb moved up/fingers fully extended).

Otherwise I could draw/take a picture of what I'm talking about.

It uses a small ammount of antimatter mixed with matter, then twiseted into a dimensional matrixy within the confines of a 0-point clean vacume instead of a nitrous oxide based reactant, which produces a much greater explosion.

Not bad, but only thing that would bug me is that when you switch to the knife, the gl isn't going to be on his hand anylonger... or pistol. Not that bad, but I know i'd irritate me. Good concept.

How about the draw animation shows the marine holding the GL in his left hand and sliding his right arm into it? That way it could be like he had taken it off when he draws anther weapon.

    Well,
I started it but I had to reformat last night cos of a browser highjack that just wouldnt go away (and the file got corrupted because of it somehow ), losing my 30 mins of work on it.

Well, there's Adaware, and then there's Spybot Seach & Destroy. I find spybot to be a bit overzealous, but that makes it more thorough, I suppose. If you used a prog that wasn't one of those two, then it probably was spyware in disguise.

If you did use one of those two, then I'm impressed, Chrono. I've never had a problem with either of 'em on any of the computers I've installed 'em on.

    Ok,
Yes, firefox DOES work, yes spybot DOES work.....wait, it doesnt?

I could not find a way of getting rid of the highjack completely and I wasnt goint to let it **** up my files yet again.

Try running Spybot, then DL a program called "Spysweeper" I can almost garantee it will find spyware that spybot doesn't.

Secondly, this browser highjack was a nastly little ****, it would be detected by ALL spyware removal programs, but would then install itself again...(To cut a long story short, I tried everything and it wouln't go).

Anyways, I have to reformat because I screwed up my partitions (im so newb ) and it's faster just to start again.
