Demos + Crash

<div class="IPBDescription">= miffed me</div> whenever i try to view a demo in NS, it will play the first few seconds of it and crash...
this has always been the case, ever since i first installed it. only happens on NS too. to play them, i use "playdemo demoname.dem" in console. i haven't really tried much in the way of troubleshooting it, since i haven't a clue where to start if it only occurs on demos and only on this particular mod.

i would imagine my system specs are irrelevant in this case since a) they are up to scratch and working perfectly and b) i just overhauled my entire system... its all new, and it was doin the same on the old stuff (and c) i cba to list it all again).
EDIT: ok, i lied. i have done basic troubleshooting, such as installing latest graphics drivers. about a week ago, i completely updated my entire systems drivers, and even flashed to the latest bios.
so thats drivers and hardware ruled out....
