    Bots are not included in NS, but there are several custom bots available.

    First you need metamod. Get it at <a href='http://www.metamod.org' target='_blank'>http://www.metamod.org</a>

    Then theres few bot choices. I use RCBot and WhichBot as primary ones. Whichbot is an alien AI and RCBot works on both but does better on marines.

    Is there any other marine bot? Or perhaps another site to download RCBot from? I want to practice commanding (although I'm not sure if bots support it) in a place where people don't care if you screw up.     RCBot had issues with turns. It would walk into the wall, as if the wall didn't exist. It might slide sideways and into the actual place, but usually not. I examined the waypoints, THEY ARE ALL BORKED!!1. *ahem*

    ok-thx now all....ive downloaded wichbot from modns....it´s bots has some problem with moving aruond the maps...they often run around in circles,...theyve got problem turning sometimes...but often ok...but i still need som marinebots for larger lan-games.....havent found any yet tough...

    Okay, I followed the instructions. I put it in ...halflife/ns/addons/rcbot
    I added all of the lines to the metamod plugins. I tried to start up a lan game and it crashed. I'm using Whichbot with metamod, so I don't think it's metamod.

    Rcbot goes in half-life/rcbot, not half-life/ns/addons/rcbot

    Metamod won't crash Rcbot though unless theres a problem when attaching it to metamod and setting it up (e.g. finding configuration files), if you are adding a bot and it crashes, you need metamod for NS beta 5.

    I did like you said. It worked fine and I had a short game. When I tried later, it crashed to desktop when I tried to start a server. I didn't change anything. Any ideas?

    used wifout metamod and works ok

    just need waypoints n stuff so bots arent so retarded

    I tested it and it worked fine.

    I probably included the player_ids.ini file in the rcbot folder,

    just delete the player_ids.ini file in the rcbot main folder and delete all the *.rcr files in the bot profiles folder. That should fix the crash

    Using NS beta 5? copy all the waypoints from rcbot/waypoints/nsp to rcbot/waypoints/ns

    in the console and see if there are waypoints for the map, even if they are they might be for the wrong version of the map and the bots might be trying to walk through walls. do that thing I said above about copying nsp waypoints to ns waypoints folder.
