Adobe Ps Help

ok i'm soo used to psp, but my suscription expired. so i d/l the newest ps called adobe ps cs. i'm not literate with ps though and i can't seem to find out how the hell you add a border. all i want to do is add a 1px border! when i make sigs i have to manually go around the whole thing with a 1px pen =/ so can anyone please help me.

    At a guess,

    Select 1px brush, color of your choice.

    Select area you want bordered. (Or ctrl-A to select all)

    Stroke.

    (Not sure where stroke is located, check under Edit=>Stroke, I think.)
