Uninstall all of them. Make sure Half-Life is fully updated, run half-life's training room, and quit. reinstall games

Your game filters are on the right things right? Not on the wrong game or super low pings or something like that(Click on Change Filters at find servers window). Also is it getting through to the gamelist server thingy or does it fail to connect to it(Look right on the bottom of the find servers window).

I had a problem similar to this a while ago.

Start a game, like cs (not third party) and then switch to NS from there.

At least it made mine work.

steam has it to where you can't switch from game to game. you have to exit and click on the game you want to play. i thought that's how it was for everybody...man i'm confused. wth could be wrong? only my 3rd party games

it says it couldn't get connection to master servers or something like that. all my filter setting are correct

Exit steam. Delete (make a backup if you want to be cautious) your steam/config/masterservers.vdf file from the steam directory. Run steam. Let it download.

Done.

It should delete the list of master servers that Steam uses to look for game servers. When you start up Steam, it should see that the file is missing, and download a new one.

Edit: I think that's what is supposed to happen, anyway.

well ok, it did that, but for the 'letting me play ns and other 3rd party mods' it didn't do anything.

Did you change your account?

I moved from my home acount '@hotmail.com' to my Uni acount '@computing.dundee.ac.uk' and you have to manualy copy all of the mods over to the new folder.

Hope that helps

Show a picture of your file hierarchy. I bet it's something wrong on your end.

Instead of "f0d666", you should have the e-mail address that you use for logging onto Steam. Unless you typed that in instead of an e-mail address.
• Seph_KimaraSeph_Kimara Join Date: 2003-08-10 Member: 19359Members
Steam allows specific usernames on new accounts (instead of the email address) now. Have done so for a while.
