I'm so sorry to hear about your dog DarkATi, and poor Davis.
I was going to tell you a story about Dakota, but then I started crying, and I couldn't finish it. So imagine a very inspirational story that makes you feel better. He was a good kitty. (If anyone remembers the post your pet's pic thread he was my high and mighty looking black tabby, with a white chin.)
On a more sad note, I remember when my first mouse died - also my first pet (they were supposed to only live 2 yrs, he lived 3, which is a LONG time for a mouse). His name was mischief, and he was the first mouse my vet had ever treated before (I loved this mouse). I was at work and I was sad (14 yrs old), so one of the priests asked me what was wrong (I work at a church), and I told him that my mouse died, but it was ok because I knew that St. Francis would be looking after him in heaven (to deal with my upsetness I had told myself this, and that I would see him when I hopefully went to heaven myself). He bluntly said animals don't have a soul, you won't see him again. I was like wow, thanks.
But there are a lot of things I don't believe about my religion, and this just started that ball rolling. St Francis of Asisi is the patron saint of animals, I know he's watching all my mice, and my kitties.

When I was a kid, I had a few fish - I had a couple of gold fish, an angel fish, and a few little sharks (3 inches long)
One day, I went to school, and when I came back, my fishtank was empty - I asked my parents what had happened, and they told me this:
My dad, - who was trying to be a good dad, decided to clean my fish tank. He netted all the fish, and put them in a bucket or something, emptied the tank, and cleaned it really good.
then to give it that extra shine, he decided to use windex to sparkle up the tank. He rinced it really good - 2 or 3 times, then filled it with water again, and put all the fish back in.
well, at about the 5 minute mark, all the sharkes died - then the angel fish, and then the gold fish - all belly up in the tank. He flushed them down the toilet and spent the rest of the day thinking about how to tell me.
So there you have it - I have never had another pet. My folks got a dog when I moved out, and there is a pigeon I feed at my new house - but no more fish

Sucks to see that you lost a pet. I know about it. Somehow my rabbit died for no apparent reason (possibly food poisoning)
Now I have 2 cats. One's about 4 years old and one's about a month old or so.
I <3 both of them.
And I also had budgies before. They were teh pwn. They chase after me and I run away (I was 2 years old, or 3. My memory is fuzzy)
