I actually am german, but what the hell is a "stein of beer"?
Did you mean a "Maas" , thats 1 liter or 2 pints.

I'm guessing it's 2 pints, but a stein is just a word for a big mug. They can vary in size, I'm pretty sure.

In other news, awesome stuff! All we have here is a stupid wannabe Oktoberfest. Nothing in it is German, though, it's pretty retarded.

Hail the hot chicks with the big breasts.

btw please do not use Sieg Heil just because people are speaking of something german...

@topic: I have been at the Oktoberfest once, when I was a bit smaller. On a rollercoaster, my dad locked my security clamp, but he pushed it down too far and my genitals were kinida "squeezed". I was screaming the whole ride because my balls were aching as shiznit. That's the only thing I can remember from the Oktoberfest, because this painful accident ruined my whole day <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

At least according to my German Cultures teacher, a "stein" is a brick.

He said to just ask for "ein beer" for a regular, and "ein grosse" for a large.

P.S. it looks like you're getting out-drank by small (and hot) women and old men. Forshame.

Personally i don´t think the Oktoberfest is as great as many people say.
I was there now three times, and well, the first time its impressive, the second is ok, but after a time it gets a little annoying, especially if you can´t find your way home.

I'm German, but I was never, and will likely never be, at the Oktoberfest. The whole thing kinda loses its appeal when you don't drink beer, know that the best pretzels aren't from Bavaria, but its western sister state, Baden Würtemberg, and think 'Weißwürste' are what happens to pigs that were very wicked in life.

That's some lovely architecture, there. Reminds me of our houses of parliament. It's a shame they don't build places like that anymore.

Those are the real thing, Snidley. Rome. Antique architecture. The architects of Parliament and White House adopted a style two thousand years old...

I must visit Munich sometime. And Prague. Maybe even Paris...although I'm not sure if they can stand up to the splendour of Rome and the Vatican.

You'd think that with all the knowledge we possess, we'd be able to produce more structures that aesthetically pleasing. Ah, well.

As a matter of fact, I think that concrete, steel, and glass, in the hands of a halfway skilled architect, can lead to amazing results. The usual problem arises: At all times, there's been a surplus of mediocre hacks.

Wow that looks like fun. Would suck for me though, since I'm straight edge.

And yeah, that architecture is beautiful.

Rome is gross. So dirty, nasty, and yeah.

    But the capitol building>everything.

I went to the Vatican, its interior owned everything.

I don't mind skyscrapers. I think they're pretty awesome just because of their size. I'm thinking of council estates when I talk of "ugly buildings".

I'd think Venice has to have the most intriguing architecture I've ever seen with my own eyes.
Paris isn't that beautiful but I might have gotten used to it (and the Eiffel Tower is just plain fugly)

edit: on topic, I'm 17 and from France. I can't legally drink beer (and don't enjoy it all that much as well) and far from such a party location for a student.

No. Sadly, my planned Europe trip crashed and burned because I didn't get a vacation job I had relied upon to fund me. I've got to make a longer trip soon, though. Maybe next summer.
