I really think its impossible to bhop perfectly without scripts or mouse wheel. I'm a very good hopper and I do it with the classic one jump space bar.( My mouse wheel can't do it even with settings)
But it's a lot slower, well, lets say I go fast like a walking celerity skulk instead of faster.
Try this one, its the fastest possible.
//3jump + toggle alias jumpswitch 3jump_on alias specialhop "-attack2; +jump; wait; -jump; wait; +attack2;" alias "+hop" "alias _special specialhop; +attack2;" alias "-hop" "alias _special; -attack2;" Alias 3jump_on "bind space +hop; alias jumpswitch 3jump_off; speak three" alias 3jump_off "bind space +jump; alias jumpswitch 3jump_on; speak one"
its for space bar only
Hey, I tryed to make a script but didn't manage to make it work
alias Lerk "slot3; +attack; slot2; -attack; slot1"
I'm sure some of you guys understand what I want to achive...I'm sure I'm missing some waits and maybe _specials...
Since blockscripts blocks the usage of a possibly repeating command, which is basically anything with a + in it, I don't think that's possible, even with aliases. However, I don't doubt that someone will come along and prove me wrong in the next post.
Well, Ive bunnyhoped for a long time with a 3jumpscript, but since the devteam fixed blockscript every nubclan enforces it to be on, so I thought Id use the mousewheel instead, and imo its much harder.. I can bhop perfectly with the mousewheel on my listenserver, but on the internet i just wont time the jumps as perfectly. This only applies to skulking though, it works great for onos/fade/gorge/marine/in the rr.
Can any mwheelbhoper give me tips? How do you do it? Do you go down, up, down, up etc or just down, down / up, up? What finger do you use?
As a long time mwheel bhop-meister, I'll try and help. I use the index finger for the wheel, and although I've tried alternating up/down, I find that just down all the time works best. The timing can still be tricky, you have to spin it right before you touch ground. After you do it for a while, though, you get used to it. I suggest using a single key that's easy to keep held down for your ducking. I don't trust the responsiveness of duck toggle scripts. Like I said somewhere up the page, I keep the 'a' key for ducking and hold that while skulk hopping around. If you use wsad movement, perhaps 'f' would be a better key for you. (I use esdf) It just has to be a key that can be held down while leaving your other fingers free for strafing about.
Trying to describe it, it seems a lot more confusing than it is in practice. I suggest getting a map with nice wide halls (ns_bhop or ns_bhtrain are designed for this) and just hopping around in it until you're ready to go mad. If you can't find those maps, load up ns_nothing and go to the path in front of great viaduct. It's a nice flat floor that goes in a loop from via to ominous kismet, to via west, and then back to via again. It's a nice place to practice since you don't have to deal with any elevation changes.

In my experience it's much harder to bunnyhop with a 3jump script than the mousewheel...
I use my index finger for the mousewheel, and I begin rolling it about halfway through my descent from the peak of the jump, this way I have plenty of time to compensate for any lag I may have in the server.
When going through odd shaped terrain or up ramps, however, I pretty much continually spam the mousewheel.
Logitech MX 500 is what I use, if it means anything..

<i>"When you have better 'skills' than me, your opinion counts."</i>
Let's disregard the fact you've never played me anyway, but isn't that a little.... [can't think of appropriate term] *EDIT*. Incidentally, I can knock scripts about it whether I was decent or not, because I <b>personally</b> would prefer to learn to do it myself. Hence why this is an open forum. *EDIT* Admittedly, I use the mousewheel, but I used to mousewheeel for jump long before HL, and I'll continue to do so I suspect for pretty much every game I play.

Have you tried a 3 jump script and a mousewheel? Spam it like mad for a bit and you just keep on hopping.
