the only problem is that ½ of the spore and umbra attacks (the projectile) use an indexed alpha sprite, so it can only be monotone. the actual cloud produced after the attacks can be a 256 color additive sprite, but mixing the two wouldn't look right unless i can think of something to draw it into context, like a bubble that bursts on impact releasing a multicolored gas, be that fire or whatever...
