What To Do With Cyber-junk?

OK so in cleaning out my garage and backyard shed (yeah I know it should be done during "spring cleaning" but I waited and I'm doing it now before Christmas / Thanksgiving / Halloween [the best Holidays] hit.) I found alot of cyber-junk/trash, like monitors, computers, printers, faxes etc. and I'm wondering how do I dispose of them?

As far as I know you can't give them to the usual trash guy, right? How do I get rid of this crap!?

Thanks,
~ DarkATi

    Burn it for fun

    If it works
    - take it to the charity shop
    - ebay it

    If it doesn't
    - burn it
    - ebay it anyway

    Latter
    - Get a skip
    - Give to binman

I just put my old 386 out on the curb with the rest of my trash. They took it.

Best way is to hand it to a thrift store or the salvation army. If nothing else, they need that kind of crud internally if it still works. If not, they'll sell it and use the money for charity.
If you live in the US though, there's a charge for disposing of old computers/monitors due to the lead in the monitors, and the difficulty of taking apart old computer cases. Might try a recycling yard if the salvation army won't take the junk.

If you don't want to keep it and use it to set up a million dollar man of machines, dump it with the rest of your crap a while before the guys come. Probably they'll mostly be gone before the pickup men get there. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Why burn it when you can shoot it with a 12 gauge? (obviously, in a safe place) <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

And weld a ring on the processor and put it on your key ring <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I put out two monitors (both dead) and a 10 year old really large tower case filled with old junk (133 mgz!) the night before garbage day. The next morning, as I awoke early for school, all the equipment was gone, before the garbage man had came. Therefore, just shove it to the curb, and some homeless people/nerds will take it home and turn it into a hamster cage or something.

during the summer some non-profit organization set up a drive where they collected all old electronic devices and recycled them free of charge. i think they also gave you a tax break as well. but that was the first and only time ive seen something like that so these things are probably very rare elsewhere as well.

My dad came home with a dyson from a skip once. He was quite drunk, we already had 2 vacuums, but he fixed it and now we use it to vacuum the garage.
