or just word on the development of one?
Yeah hi, I don't do this very often.
I'm really anal about having accurate information for all the games I play. I'm that one in ten guy who R'sTFM.
The most up to date manual I could find for NS is the early 3.0 one in my sig, which is so hard to find on the natural selection frontpage that I had to Google for it to even find it. While this is all of negligible consequence, it constitutes a sloppy attention to detail. Providing the knowledge-base should be part of the development job. It shouldn't be the job of organized players, which is what it seems like now. There just really ought to be an updated, accurate and up to speed manual for beta5. If you are going to tweak numbers or add features, think about us poor manual-readers. I like to know these things. New players like to know these things too.
Anyway someone is going to provide me with a really simple answer to this which will make me look tremendously stupendously horrifically dumb, and this will all be happily resolved. Like the location of the changelogs or something. Twiddling my thumbs for an answer.

Have it be either a read me or an auto pop up leading to the ns.org manual.
now all we'll need is a new FAQ to go along with it
assuming that:
People who read > People who don't
As long as someone out there is writing out the nuts and bolts of NS, I'm happy, no matter if it's official or not. Still, my concern is that there be a full, complete manual ON THE NS.ORG FRONTPAGE. There could be an exaustive manual already written at the time of this post, but I haven't seen it, you know what I mean? I'm just worried that the new players downloading this game from the frontpage will find the first manual ever written, the original 1.04 one, which is so full of outdated material, it's an excersize in disinformation. That's why I was hoping to get something concrete and solid out of Zunni, or Nem, or just about anyone actually INVOLVED with NS.
I think somewhere in my post I mentioned that it shouldn't be the job of organized players to write the manual on a game.
