So this might... might be a rental for me.

Go away please, they're great games. A little bit dated by now, but when they came out, they were very original, athmospheric, great storyline, and decent gameplay. Ok, there's a bit of lacking in the gameplay department, but doom3? Please. Not even halfway as good and scary as people make it out to be. "ok right im here, alcove ahead of me, so i gotta walk past, ah heres the guy in front of me. right lemme turn back cos guy spawned behind me as well. oh and lets keep walking all day not sure of what we're trying to accomplish except ban the evil demons by shooting them".

I know Doom 3 isn't really scary. I said that because I really hate RE that much.
Almost as much as hate Splinter Cell.

Me = shooters, RTS or no likey.

Yeah, the plot was straightforward and simplistic, there was no real character development, blah blah blah.

It's RE2, what does that crap matter anyways? I went there to watch some butt-kicking and got lots of it, and some other stuff near the end that was like "Hell yeah."

Whoever above said that they're going to see SAW gets a huge cookie from me, and a link to the song I made where I sample a Saw trailer almost to the brink of abuse.

Yeah, somebody said that to me while we were watching. IMO, that was one of the coolest scenes.

I just saw the movie. I feel dirty.

It's movies like this and the Playboy issue with naked girls from video games that gamers are still looked down upon as a handful of perverted, violence obsessed teenagers. I spent the entire movie thinking of things that my money would be better spent on.

If you just want to see gratuitously satisfying violence, go rent a Terminator or Rambo movie. If you want to see boobies, go get some porn. Considering jiggling and violence are what this movie is based on, it fails to deliver on both accounts. The lack of plot is characteristic of most video game based movies. One only needs look at a Mortal Combat movie to see how video games translate to the big screen.

The movie pretty much took the video game, stripped it of everything that made the game good, dropped the interactivity and put it up for all to see. There was no real tension. It was just wave after wave of zombies and zombie dogs in different environments. The scene where the motorcycle crashes through the church window felt like it was ripped from The Matrix, where Trinity crashes the rent-a-cop shack.

I'm going to quote Roger Ebert now.

Read the warning about not expecting a good plot or character developement, so I wasn't surprised when both failed. I was surprised, however, at the action. None of it seemed especially exciting or interesting to me. Ah well. I lost the $8.30 for admission and the $9 dollars for snacks, but at least the movie wasn't really bad, just poor.

Meh, well I liked the movie. I loved the black guy.

    <3 my warnings

Finch you can't look at this as part of the game, it's just got the game's name in the movie. As hellokitty put it, you can't look at the movie as the game b/c it just doesn't happen. I do agree that the nudity was kinda senseless and rather disturbing (everyone knows zombie hookers = hawt).

Is The chronicles of riddick the only good movie+game set? Maybe it has something to do with the time between the two? Nah, it's just profits and marketing.

Ok I have a way to solve this movie should be more like the game stuff.

Film yourself playing Resident Evil on GCN and submit it to a big movie company to publish and stuff.

    Win?

You're silly. RE games having less gameplay than Doom 3? RE1 Gamecube Remake not as beautiful as Doom 3? I think not!

Meh I guess it just comes down to caring about the character... I care a lot more about someone who I actually play as than some poor, foolish cop who only brings a couple of clips to look for a team that was slaughtered.

Also, pre-rendered are automatically ugly in my opinion. They don't move. You might as well be playing on a painting.

Well play RE on the GC! The backgrounds in that aren't static pre-renderings, they're high-res movies. About as atmospheric as you're going to get with the game medium.

RE on the GC is simply mind-blowing graphic's wise. They may have pulled off lots of lil tricks to achieve it but the final effect beats the pants out of just about everything else for atmosphere =3

I happen to quite like the RE Game chars, and it's not much to do with the fact I can be them either... Unfortunately I've yet to give even the remotest semblence of a care about the chars in the first RE movie and I suspect RE2 may have the same problem when I get around to seeing it.

This movie should have been called "Resident Evil: Mila Jovovich Makes Fun of a Crappy Movie".

Like some really boring **** will happen. The the characters will do some really stupid things. And just as the pacing slows to a crawl and you're wondering in the back of your head where Mila is...

BOOM! Mila Jovovich busts through the wall like the CoolAid Man and kicks some ****!

Lame Characters: "Oh no. There's fast things on the walls. Oh no. We suck at shooting them... yet they're not eating us. Lets extend this sucky scene as much as possible..."
Mila: *BOOM* "OH YEAH! I KILL EVERYONE WITH AN EXPLODING MOTORCYCLE!!!"

Valentine: "I'm going to kill these dogs by blowing up the kitchen. Oh no. My match went out..."
Mila: *BOOM* "OH YEAH! YOU MATCH SUCKS! MY LIGHTER WILL KILL THEM ALL WITH FIRE BALL OF DEATH!!!!!!"

Lame Characters: "Oh no. How are we going to get into this building. It's so heavily guarded..."
Mila: *BOOM* "OH YEAH!! I'M ON TOP OF THE BUILDING!! AND NOW I'M GOING TO RUN DOWN THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING! I KICK ALL THE GUARDS AND THEY DIE!! I HAVE TO STICKS AND I BEAT THEM ALL TO DEATH!!!!!"

Lame Characters: "Yeah, we're finally going to escape in this helicopter."
Mila: *BOOM* "OH YEAH!! I GET STABBED AND DIE!"

But she's ok, cause her powers are increasing geometrically. HER POWERS ARE INCREASING GEOMETRICALLY!!

    It was ok.

To be honest Resident Evil is a slightly better story than DOOM3.

Make sure if you play it you look through all the files (Or just read through This)

Plus the story got even more sinister in the Remake with the introduction of a test subject and a lot more sinister stuff.
