What's That Icon Mean?

titaniumtitanium Join Date: 2003-10-31 Member: 22166Members

new for 04
since the existing "what's that icon mean" picture Jojoshua made is both out of date and horribly compressed, i re-made it. i would just pm nemesis zero but i don't know if he's still on vacation or not, so perhaps whichever mod or admin sees this can move this to the new player forum and sticky it to replace the old thread (and edit out all this paragraph).

here are the various official icons in Natural Selection and what they mean. any icon you see not on this list is a custom icon created by the server you are playing on.

CD doesn't work unless the server has enabled it, me thinks.

don't forget a lot of people enjoy using the dev icon to symbolize server admin.

    and smurf as flayra.

With working customicon support we will probably have a lot more smurfing on servers :c

actually, the creator of the admin icons mod removed the ability for admins to "smurf" as a dev or flayra.

"One pretty major note: You can no longer assign people Guide, Developer, Playtester, Veteran, Constellation or Beta Server Op icons. This is not a bug, this is by my decision. There is full support for custom icons so there is no reason to use the icons people deserve otherwise."

Custom icon support should give admins the flexibility to recognize their admins and regulars without using existing icons that mean something to the community already.

in all joking.... (regarding a post I made on how to get VET status) shouldn't you put next to the medal icon (players who clanned long enough to use scripts and make people think they were good)

Should've closed this once it had served its purpose - ***locked*** before the vet-bashery begins once a-friggin-gain.
