take that TFC!
http://steampowered.com/status/game_stats.html

Natural Selection is technically 4th if you combine the 2 different ns stats. cause the game changed names for beta5, it's listed twice

im thinkin that once ns goes "official" that it will quickly beat DoD and possible condition zero in the rankings. it will definatly take a chunk out of counter strikes player base

NS was always over TFC in steam (whenever I checked)

However, CS is CS so don't be surprised if they got all large spots.

For a LARGE part of CS players, NS requires too much brain power and doesn't have enough purchaseable guns.

Hate to say it, but I'm betting it's a temporary peak and will last at most a month. (And I PAID for this game.)

Well, we do tend to be getting a slow influx of new players testing the waters of NS... so that may be good to in the long run...

And of course I'm trying my best to get all my friends to play DoD and NS.

"Hey, what do you play online?"
    "Uh......CS is all I play..."
"...good enough. Wanna see something a billion times better?"

well mocking cs is what its all about, we might aswell pretend it makes us enlightened in some way, when they got rid of constant circle jumping(note: after bh removal) the game became waaay too tedius to play though you gotta miss the bh too

For the past month I have been testing different mods, being fed-up with the state NS was in, so I can honestly say that once the official v3.0 comes out, it will beat the heII out from several mods.

-- Science & Industry: It is supposed to be about getting scientists to your lab and researching stuff, but after all it just revolves around the typical theme: deathmatching. If you kill: you can take the scientists and hurt their economy, so everything else is secondary.

-- Frontline Force: Just a copy of Counter-Strike with more AWP's ("Recons") and a little bonus when moving in a group. Left really quick after getting sniped for the Nth time in the first capture-location.

-- TFC, DMC, CS, and DoD: Just pure deathmatch. Gets boring very quick.

I'm pretty certain that NS will be on it's way to good #2 if the new authors keep the right road to stay away from repetitive deathmatching and emphasize locations/building/commanding more than what it is currently.

TFC is better, and it's much better with this new beta.

Oh? It has ridicilous physics, looks ugly, the sounds are minimal and several classes are obsolete (no need for med when you can just spawn, engineers can build only 1 louzy turret that dies to the first nade, scout can't do anything, spy is about assassinating someone and then getting blasted to smithereens, etc). IMO, there simply isn't anything interesting around the basic fragging-theme, unlike with NS that REQUIRES you to get aquinted with classes, upgrades, hives, buildings, and teamplay (...to a extent...)

Lol. You haven't played it very much, and you are not very good at it.
Medic is the main workhorse for offense. You probably don't even know what a concjump is.

Did you know the object is to capture the flag/capture point/base?

You assume too much, Skifly; didn't I say that I played these games for the past month to find out if they were better than NS (and worth moving to)?

Next time read through what I have written before jumping to conclusions.

Based on your description of the classes you are unqualified to make any judgments about TFC other than superficial things like "it looks ugly."

Just so this doesn't go to flaming, I'll just shut up when you *obviously* know my own words better than even I do. Server hopping on cs pubs as "www.natural-selection.org", I get at least one "wth is that site?" per server, once I basically outlined the entire damn game to a whole server, that is until one player who just joined saw my name and said, "OMG NS SUICKS its soooo unrelaistic!"

To which I replied ".....it's a video game. Of COURSE it's unrealistic. Unless of course you really are a terrorist, and this is how you train...."

because everone knows CS is realistic because there's real life weapon names and skins.

I don't deny some CS players are actually intelligent and willing to learn, we all know that a lot of people only want to jump in the CS bandwagon and shoot people's heads.

People who like TFC over NS are just sad. I played it last night for old times sake and its like hl deathmatch with an "objective", worse weapons, worse graphics, terrible sounds and terrible classes. Hopefully they'll turn it into a REAL game when they make a sequal.
