<div class="IPBDescription">how NS will be distributed...?</div> Yeah, I'm jumping the gun a bit...but I heard something like this a while ago on planethalflife...

Is the next release going to be available over steam? or is it still going to be the traditional way of downloading it from whatever other source we can find?

and if next release isn't going to use steam...are there still plans to release NS over steam? I remember that valve said something about opening steam distribution up to mods that weren't affiliated with them a while ago, but I don't know if there's any sort of flaming hoops they're making people jump through to do so...

I'm pretty sure they'll wait with the "official" release on Steam until 3.0 Final (i.e. when it's no longer in beta).

The intention is certainly to provide NS over STEAM.. However it is not in this Beta..

With all the CSS beta patches and the HL2 preload, I doubt VALVe would want to let people download anything else over Steam anyway.

Steam was also designed to actually allow modders to distribute their mod from steam, and get up-to-date, yadadeda, unfortunately this hasn't happened yet, it is still based on Valve products first, high priority!
