the video is a vid of ingame footage... it looks plain wow.

it isnt on fp.. i googled and found it.. its like 38 mb

what do you all think of it?

    I think www.filerush.com had it.
    I watched it and wasn't that impressed.
    Alot of it looked heavily scripted.

Compared to other newer titles this has the sort of lighting seen in DX:I and Theif 3 (same engine). It's not bad but it doesn't look terribly involving either, they just showed a few repeated scripted sequences and some mindless shooting. It doesn't really do justice to the epic feel the movie had; even seeing the scenes of the rushing horde doesn't inspire the same sense of despiration.

    It just looked really easy.

    e/ also, I would've liked to hear the ingame sound, not just some dubbed over music with some random fire sounds. Scenery looks pretty plain also.

    I loved the RTS Starship Troopers game (still playing it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> ), and this one looks promising. IS this a licensed engine or self-built?

    It looks like fun, but there's too much effect of everything, like Doom 3, and some of game just looks like crap. The Huge bug breaking through the fortress wall, that was bad. Still looks fun though.

    but you can with the marine base, it's fairly blocky. I know it is in the movie as well but the detail in textures and world detail (dead bodies sprawled everywhere like the movie) was pretty plain. I just think that this is going to be an average game, nothing special.

    Until then there's always the <a href='http://www.planetduke.com/starshiptroopers/' target='_blank'>Duke 3D Starship Troopers TC</a>, which is better than the movie, although that's not saying much.

    Finally, the movie that embodies video games becomes a game.

    I think it will be very fun to play, but if you don't consider shooting at and running from waves of bloodthirsty aliens with the IQ of a dog fun then don't bother.

    Also, is it just me, or does the second gun in the screens (not the Morita) look freightening similar to the Halo shotgun?

    i know what you mean tommy that gun is very similar to the halo gun but in the video the shotgun looks more like the futaristic weapons shown at the end of the first movie

    obst, i wish i could play the RTS.... i have it... but it wont run on my pc. i applied all the patches i couild to stop it crashing but it still does :/

    everything looks bland!

    tbh i think the Starshiptroopers map on Sven co-op mod atm is better than that!

    And i think theres a few hl2 SST mods in the planning department atm!
