Half Life Preloading?

In some ways it's simpler to back up your GCF files.

Say, with my DVD burner I can stick all the steam games and mods I play onto one disc.

I end up copying just one folder off the disc, and everything works again.

id rather the cd than a dled version, actually, id rather both, thats what i did with treadmarks, and it worked.

I would but the servers are always overloaded. I think the preload is just all the textures and stuff, but nothing playable.
