Needed to get back into modelling, and 3-4 hours work later he is an SMG based on Ownes fantastic concept:

<img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/uploads//post-47-1092158205.png' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

<img src='http://www.myselfinbinary.com/smg.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

Lots of work still to be done (dimens need altering), PC = 1200 and expect this to go to 1500 after tweaking and small additions.

The mesh is clean and I would really be greatfull if someone who would pm me if they could UVW map once I am done...

    Make the magazine a bit wider, I think owen meant for it to be a double stack mag. All in all a pretty good model could use some work, but you're getting there.

    Looks like a threesome when the HK MP5k had sex with a Franchi Spas 12 and M41A1 Pulse Rifle. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    basic 3dsmax render
    hes using a skylight aimed down toward the model and light tracers on
    this usualy hides alot of detail so i suggest you do that then throw in a couple omni lights from different angels turn on ray traced shadows on 1 of the omni lights town down the multiplyers of the lights if its too bright and use a material with a bit of gloss on it then just render

    ya i use the default 3ds renderer too. Sunlight is good with a skylight, though you have to turn the brightness down on one of them else its too bright. Used with slightly reflective materials it looks good too, but i havnt done that very well yet so yeah....

    I think its a bit tooo boxy.

    When i see that concept, I think mp5k.

    For rendering...just use the mental ray built into 3dsmax....u can get some nice reflective renders in...and bump maps too...makes some sweet looking renders.

    Altho brazil is quite funky for chrome effects and stuff....mental ray can easily cope with that too.
