    Yes
    <a href='http://www.brywright.co.uk/ns/stats/' target='_blank'>http://www.brywright.co.uk/ns/stats/</a>

however, it is still updating i have 2.6gb worth of logs to parse and it is painfully slow if the game and webserver are not on the same pc (takes about 4 days to parse this amount remotely about an hr max locally) its only done about 60% in 2 days atm

Ive added 2 custom links live overview and watch. The reset is all default with a downloaded and tweaked theme.

The awards and clans get compiled at the very end of the update process so these are not showing yet because of that.

Persoanlly i love pyschostats 2.x and really recommend you use it as long as you have the mysql server on webserver else you get slow update times.

    they are just plugins:
    <a href='http://phpua.sourceforge.net/' target='_blank'>phpUA</a> << but yes, good entertainment
    <a href='http://djeyl.net/w.php?language=english' target='_blank'>web mod</a>

ahh, webmod, I love it, saves me a lot of login in and editing on my server

phpUA, cool, I tried it for administrative purposes, it's good, but i still prefer webmod

I like it. Only drawback/setback for NS is you can see where the other team is going. It doesn't matter as much in Co, but in Classic, you can see if the marines are building outside your hive, etc. I will have to discuss this with our admin...

Ive been watching it a while, and it doesn't seem to be too acurate. It seems to jump people all over the map, move res nodes, hives etc.

    yes phpua is very good.

However on the client it uses quite a bit of cpu so using it and ns same time is quite hard. I dont think u need to worry about people cheating.

Actually it is quite accurate the jumping is either
a)people dying and being respawned so they jump across the map
    or
b)the lag time u ahve set think it defaults to like 5 or something

Hey billcat I don't particularly want to take down the server for a few hours to setup psychostats 2.2 and see how it works as it may be wasted time and annoy everyone I kicked off the server. Can you answer a few questions for me please?

How does it work in normal operation? Do you have a cron job running psychostats every 30 minutes or everyday or does it just run constantly in the background?

Also what happens when it parses the logs? How long does it take and does it eat up all the CPU causing the server to lag?

    Any other problems?

I run windows so i use windows scheduler to schedule stats.pl to be run every 4 hours. This then finds new logs and updates them. You can use a cron job too. Or you can manually run it.
My stats finished last night and i am now running them on sechedule and they use approx 19mb of ram and 0-6% cpu. 6% being max and 2% being average.

Time taken depends on 3 factors - Location of mysql server, How often you update and clans compiling.

Location of myself server plays a big difference. As updating remotely takes a long time. I have approx 2.8gb worth of logs going back to january of this year (if you have logs going back to last year you must use 2 log folders) and it takes approx 4 days to parse all the logs. If you have the mysql server running on the same box it takes approxamtely 1-2 hours depending on cpu speed. I'd say for most servers no mroe than an hour.

When doing an update every 4 hours it takes approx 15 minutes to parse the new logs to the remote mysql server (say about a few minutes locally).

How often you update plays a part as the more new logs the more time it will take to update. I do mine every 4 hours. But, if you aree really worried about cpu usage i would just update it once a day at around 3-5am i.e. when you know your server will be empty for an hr or 2.

Clans compiling and to a degree awards compiling (these are only done once a week/month depending on your setting) uses a bit mroe cpu than normal. But, this is not essential to be done every xx hours. I have mine set so that normal parsing is done without then compiling clans. Then at 5am every day it parses and compiles the clans. So i have 2 scheduled tasks running.

Pyschostats 2.2 now comes with a upgrade.pl script meaning you should never (unelss something mess's up) have to re-parse all your log files again.

Hope that helps (and that i didnt make too many typos)

Cheers for the info. I probably won't bother then as our combat server is usually full through the night so even a 6am running of the stats wouldn't be great. I was hoping I could run it once every 5 minutes or something and it only take a second.

I've run the stats program locally (logs, mySQL and stats program on the same machine) and it takes very little time, I'd say about 10 seconds to update stats once they have been fully compiled once.
