Again, the pill makes your body release the high in your glands. What I'm saying is that a video game is just as artificial a high as any drug, because you're not actually experiencing a real thing that induces an adreneline high, it's not real. Fake. Like a drug.

And about the whole 42 deal.. nyone who says that COMPLETELY missed what was going on in that part of the book, apparently. 42 is the answer to the great question. No one knows what the great question was, and thus Earth was created.

I like to use that old Sublime lyric:

<i>life is too short, so love the one you've got
cause you might get run over
    or you might get shot</i>

I just try to enjoy my time here, cause it's been great so far. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Total agreement, I live each day as it comes, sounds cliche but its true.

Although that could just be because I'm rubbish at forward planning...

    Example:

    <i>Hodge Lights up a cigarette</i>
<Fam> Those things will kill you ya'know
<Hodge> Yeah but I could get hit by a bus tommorrow
    *Later that day*
<i>Fam narrowly avoids getting hit by a bus</i>

To do what is right in my opinion. Try to help others in little ways. Cause what else is there to do. Also try to make others happy.

You know, lots of problems can arise from trying to help others. If everyone was just resigned to making themselves and only themselves happy, no one would have to mess with anyone else's life.

Problems are perceived. The only reason people think life is great is because THEIR life is great and they assume everyone elses is too. Well, heres a <b><i><u>NEWSFLASH</u></i></b> Life sucks. For everyone, even if this reality is diluted by your wealth, because money does buy happiness, you don't see a bum laugh very often. Life is a cold dim assembly of random outlooks our senses produce.

Actually Commie, the one beauty of life is that it's what you make it. Think of it as an open ended game with infinite endings. If you just sit on your rear and take what life gives you then sure it'll probably be poop but if you just put some passion behind your actions and aim for what you want it's pretty fun =3

I believe that everyone has a mission to complete, whole universe, all planets, all moves are big calculations. Your life is big numerous formula full of other formulars. You can do calculations from every single thing. Maybe even the pseudohistory is possible in our brains. The whole system is like a big program. Every planet goes on its numerous path without missing a single step. There are calculations everywhere.
And your life is one calculation, you have to complete the formula, after that you may die peacfully. With your formula, you build up other formula for another life.
I believe in spirits as an energy. And it is possible to do numerology right.
I know who I was in my previous life, and my characteristics fits so well with me that I cannot believe it. There are dejavus and stuff. All that maybe your unconsious calculations from another life or pseudohistory. I know people who know theyr next step, who know what happens next and that is amazing. I have had one experiense on my own too ^^, I just know that I am in bed exactly at 1:57, I imagined the situation i look at the clock in my uncontious but I didnt realized it as a future before, but i realized it as a thought. And it went true. there are lots of things what go true and you just know it and nothing depends on it...
We are all einsteins, einsteins of life. And the formula is to complete your character so you could finish and leave from this world. I have seen enough proof for this theory and thats what i believe.

But what keeps me going, i dont know, the life itself. I have had very hard situations and breakdowns but I just try not to think negatively...

My meaning of life is to find one.
I have no real motivation to keep on living and if someone pointed a gun at me, I wouldn't be too afraid, really.

I think I would get a meaning of life if I got only one of these three.
    1. To find inner peace
    2. To acquire (a lot of) knowledge/wisdom
    3. To find someone of the other gender who completely understands me

I could start a another whole post on this, but I'm not going to. As far as I am concerned, God does not exist. I am an atheist. If God loves and cares for me, but not only the people around me, how come people die and are hurt senselessly everyday?

Sorry for DBL post, but I had to seperate this to give it full meaning:

God does love and care for you, but he isn't going to hold your hand through your life. Its like that old saying, "If you really love something, let it go free."- and thats basically what he has done with us. We die senselessly every day because he loves all of us equally, and if he saves one person from another person out of the blue, people will see him as a biased God. He'd rather you love him back upon faith, as well as the fact that you have confidence that nothing matters right now, because you have gotten yourself into a win-win situation. You can keep living, and enjoy life, or, you can die, and go to heaven. He does love us, and he just wants us to love him back.

I'll say it again: "we think, therefore we think we are."

Life is an illusion, but it is a persistant and consistent. Therefore, the fact that it is an illusion <i>makes no difference</i>. Emotions and thoughts are chemical and electrical impulses, but as long as we think they're thoughts, they are. It doesn't diminish their significance.

As I said before, the meaning of life is to find meaning. There's a lot to be bitter about, but as the old prayer goes: "God, grant me the courage to change the things I can, the strength to accept the things I cannot, and the wisdom to tell the difference". I'm an atheist, but I can see the truth in those words.

You've just got to set yourself a standard of behaviour and follow it as best you can. What standard depends on how moral you are. You've got to invent a purpose, and strive to fulfil it as best you can. You've got to find what makes you happy, and make use of it.

I say that a person should always worry about themselves first because nobody else is going to for you, and if you give all you have you'll have nothing left for yourself. There's a big difference between being selfish and not being self-sacrificing. Another reason to look after yourself rather than others is that you can't change other people, no matter how hard you try. All you can do is share ideas, and try to stay as open-minded as you can.

are two things i live by, and i'm not just saying that. Many people are surprised by my reactions to events and people in my life, simple because i don't just say it, i live by it. I consider myself Agnostic, and i have my own theorys on God, and on my existance. to say it simply I believe that we live simple to create more life. As for myself, why do i wake up in the morning? To wake up in the morning, thats why.

Life is a justification within itself. I breathe, I eat, I sleep simply for the experience of it all, to experience the joy of it, the pain of it, whatever may come. I take pride in the fact that every day I go on living is another day in spite of what others have inflicted upon me, in spite of what I see as a broken world that seems intent on destroying itself.

I can find joy in this place despite what life and the ignorance and selfishness of other people has put me through, and when people ask me why did I go on, why keep going, my answer is a simple; <i>"Because I can."</i>

Oh my, you got me depressed.

Is NS a horribly depressing game, or is humanity just hopelessly full of self-pitying creatures who wish for what they have not?

Barcode brothers put it nicely in "Ambient" (I can only recommend that you get your hands on it, it was on their first cd ("swipe me"). It's worth it):

    <!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->Consider this:

92 % of the worlds populations feels that their lives could be better. What about you?

If you could do anything, anything at all, what would you do?

    What are you doing now?

    Imagine that:

You could live your life, knowing it could not be better and never feel that you would rather be doing something else, be somewhere else or be someone else.

    Now consider this:

Some people actually live that way, and so could you!

    Contemplate this:

What if 90 % of the problems you encountered in your life, where mere illusions and only existed in your mind!

In your everyday life whenever something annoys you, stresses you, makes you mad or makes you sad.

Consider if that something really matters!

Will you even remember how you felt in one day, one week, one month, one year or what about in ten years?

So when the people you work for pressure you, and fail to understand you, does it really matter? And when they call you on the phone, screaming and yelling, does it matter?

And should you really allow that to influence your life?

    It’s all about choices!
