Mercurial Audio/text Problem

<div class="IPBDescription">very... picky</div> Here are my symptoms.

In game, I can see some peoples chat, but not others. I can also hear some people, but not others.

My steam skin, for those of you who want to know, is Default. This is a very odd problem... I can't talk to 2 of my clanmates, yet i can talk to some total stranger. It's very odd.

I can also see myself speak.

I also installed a new ATI video card today, that must be the source of the problem. However, even though I've most likely identified the source, I don't know how to fix it... how do I fix this?

So I can go from <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> to <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

ummm, unistall the video drivers then reinstall older ones?



oh, installed new card.

well install the latest drivers if you havn't and if you have, roll them back to the ones on the CD

This is so odd... it hasn't been fixed and I've tried reinstalling NS, & the software. My card is a Radeon 9600 128mb card...

How can a card distinguish between the text I can and can not see, and voice comm I can and can not hear? It's very wierd. I've tried installing older drivers, and that yielded no results.

Any other possible solutions are welcome!

have you tried to run dxdiag tests?

Problem persists. I've just ran the DXDiag tests and they were all perfect. Double-u tee eff mate?
