I had to do that when I went to visit a friend in San Fransisco. He needed sleep, and I really didn't need too much. We didn't want to risk having his Alarm not waking either of us up, so I stayed up all night on his computer and put a piece of tape on his [hairy] leg so I could quickly wake him. It worked. Later in the day after we left the park, Great America, I slept on the train with the bear I won.

Geeky stuff? Well when I'm not doing anything at all, I imagine battles in Super Smash Bros. Melee in my head and work on my timing for L-Canceling and pulling off combos. But then again, my friends are very hard to beat... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

For a while in school, I would try to turn in any and all assignments in L337 5p34|<. My english teacher got pretty upset though.

I'm not geeky so much as... eccentric, you could say.

I don't wear my watch on my wrist. I wear it hanging off a necklace around my neck which, when I'm at uni, also has an array of pens clipped to it. I make obscure, computer-related jokes that few people get (for example, I once wrote up "if you're happy and you know it" expressed in four or five different programming languages. Very funny if you're a programmer; merely bizzare to anyone else). I pick up things with my toes, and use my feet to open and close doors (and cupboards).

I sing Tom Lehrer songs, with gusto (even when people <i>are</i> in earshot). <i>Especially</i> when I'm drunk, at which time I often get involved in serious philosophical discussions with a friend of mine. I can be very lucid when I'm drunk. I drink coffee with chilli powder in it. I've got a really, really strange hat thingummy that I wear sometimes (wasn't a hat originally) which really needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. I smuggled that hat into my highschool graduation, and slipped it on as I walked on stage (we don't have those silly black cloaks and hats in Australia).

I sometimes talk to my family in bits of Japanese which I've picked up from watching anime (and occasionally recieve responses in Indonesian from my sister, who's learning it at school). Most of what I think of as "my music CDs" are actually game CDs which I like the soundtracks of. Currently, I'm growing a beard in an effort to have it long enough to braid in the same style as Jack Sparrow's (Jonny Depp; Pirates of the Carribean. I just really like the beard).

    That's enough for now.

Well this is about moderate geek level, but it annoys the hell out of a teacher, so life is good. When in English classes (which make paint drying look positively fascinating), I code in c++/php instead of paying attention. Its hilarious when she picks up the paper I'm writing on and says "What is this? You're supposed to be taking notes!" and I reply "Those are notes. In shorthand." Hasn't failed me yet.

Another geeky thing was going into the Computer Science 30AP A exam (written in Java this year), having had 2 hours of java training in my life, and getting a perfect score.

As for just plain everyday geekiness... always having one firefox tab on the NS forums, another on PHP.net, a third on VERC and a fourth on GMail. That's in addition to the ones I actually use. All this while winamp plays some movie (or TV show, depending on which finished downloading first) on my second monitor... but said monitor died yesterday, so I guess that's no more.

Well I for one talk to myself all the time; when I’m frustrated, when I’m trying to work something out, or just when I feel the need to verbalize my thoughts. I've got this habit of talking to myself in the mirror every time I go to the bathroom. I just stand there and make all manner of faces and it just fascinates me for reasons I can't explain. I’ve got quite good a fake accents too after all this exhausting conversation when the Russian version of me comes to visit. Have you ever tried to argue with yourself and then tell yourself you’re sorry for being a jerk? I was watching a T.V show and I forget why but it improves you social or some such crap. Nonetheless I tried it just to amuse myself.

Anyway that pretty much covers the weird side of me. Although apparently it's quite common for people to talk to themselves. I think it helps people like me to think things over better.
