I haven't had a Blue Screen on XP, but got it masses of times on ME.

Congrats, now do it several hundred thousand more times and you'll be in the running to beat me. Yet I havn't BSOD'd 2K yet on this comp. And I only think I managed to crash it like twice.

You have to set up XP to give you a BSOD instead of just crashing.

They are almost nothing like the 98 ones (except they are blue ). They give you an essay on why the computer crashed in the form of pretty much meaningless code.

Yeah, I knwo what caused it, I just got out of UT2004 and tried to play GC2 right away, some error with DirectX occured, couldnt load both at the same time or something so it shut down to prevent damage.

I wish I get BSOD's. My xp just dies unexplainably and refuses to boot afterwards.

I win. Mine just freezes, starts squealing loudly, and won't respond to any input except the nice reset button. Its not an XP error, and I have no idea why it does it. Only does it in DirectX games (or so I believe, since its never happened in HL/NS so far, but happens within 5 minutes in BF:Vietnam or C&C Generals.) I've only had 1 BSOD, it was an error with some beta ATI Drivers

I win, many tasty years of XP pro on this machine, and not a single crash that wasnt hardware related. *IE, the fan dying and the system overheating and shutting off to save itself*

I got a bsod when my harddrive screwed up, one trip to recovery console is all it took
