I just bought a new keyboard becasue my old one bit the dust in the form of mt. dew. This new keyboard, A ViewSonic KU206 usb keyboard doesnt like my computer it seems. It works fine while navagating the BIOS, so I know that the keyboard works, but as soon as Windows XP loads, all of its lights go off, and it doesnt do a thing. In device manager it says that there is a code 10 error, but windows help doesnt explain what this is or how to fix it. Im having trouble even writing this because my old one doest work that well (All ds, and fs had to be cut and pastec with the old keyboard.

If anyone know why windows doesnt like this keyboard, or what and how to fix a "code 10" error, please help.

Thanks.

    Drivers? Add/remove hardware?

Sounds to me like windows isn't sensing it.

It came with no drivers, and pratcily no documentaion. When I plug it in, it says that it can see a new USB keybaord, and I click and it promts me to install drivers. Since I didnt get any in the box, I tell it to search. It doesnt find anything, and says once internet is working (which it is anyway because im posting) it will search for drivers.

Try generic keyboard drivers. Not sure where to find 'em though and really XP should recognize the thing on its own.

    <a href='http://www.viewsonic.com/support/drivers/driver_information.cfm?product=all&formName=product&key=47' target='_blank'>http://www.viewsonic.com/support/drivers/d...=product&key=47</a>

Yeah, I tried those, they are only for the hotkeys at the top of the keyboard.

as for the new keyb, how strange... doesn't it have the option to stick it in the normal keyboard jack? I have nothing but trouble with just about all USB devices I've ever used <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> mice, keyboards, external CD drives, you name it...
