    Well I was debating if he used the snarks and laser for good or awesome, but settled for 1337. I loved the bit where he nade jumped himself down to 1 hp <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> Oh, and the nice exploiting of the outdoor maps by just running through the water-bugs up on the top edges. That, and his strageic use of scientists in the beginng to wedge open doors.

    He cheated. When on the part where you see the first one of those giant 3 clawed monsters in the rocket test area and you have to turn on the power and the oxygen, he cheats a jump. While on his way to the second area, he jumps off a tall ledge, and is falling towards the acid below. Just before he hit the platform, going very fast from a great hieght, more than enough to kill him, there is a cut, and he is suddenly moving much slower, and lands without damage. No ladders near where he landed to break the fall either <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->.

    Exploiting the game isnt really cheating the in the sense of the speed run though, its the goal to use whatever you can use (ingame only) to get there faster, and map exploits are pretty common in any speed run.

    edit: Looks like he did the same type of thing in "Aprehension", right after the first shark pits the camera cuts right after he trying to use the hanging guys to bypass some of the level. It doesnt look like he even made the jump. There first guy that did the speed run of the HL was better than this guy, or at least hid his mistakes better <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> .

    Hrm, he even keeps magicly gaining health everytime he cuts, has allready happened twice in "questionable ethics", showing that he most likely was playing the game at a normal place, but record individual levels of speed running and stringed them together later.

    If you're talking about the part that I think you're talking about, that jump's possible. The slowing down though, he might have save during the jump.

    It's a recording bug in Half-Life, I believe Health/Armor/Ammo don't register right, and are often displayed as something they're not.

    He could have always cut the parts that he performed successfully and put them into one movie, explaining the health differences. Although it was really fun to watch and I would like to see Opposing Force done aswell.

    LAN center event. Everyone loads up a single-player game. Whistle sounds, and its a race to the finish. Winner gets stuff.

    That actually could be fun...

    I'd go to it, especially if one of the games was Grim Fandango. I can play THAT in my head. And I have. Repeatedly.

    We did that once with Diablo 2. First 2 man team to defeat Andariel and do all quests.

    Me and another bloke killed Andariel when we were lvl 6 Assassin and lvl 7 Druid. Javalins baby. "course then we found out that you have to be lvl 9 to pick up the Horadric Malus. So we did some frantic grinding in the catacombs and just beat one of the other teams. Great stuff.

    We won a pizza btw. Which was good 'cause I'd spent all my money on caffinated beverages. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
