<div class="IPBDescription">Very cool!</div>
Ok, so I decided to go to PC world to get an extra 256MB Ram (around £40) When I get there there is this Huge tent outside with "Modfest 04" written across It.
My inner Geek goes into overdrive and I charge inside. The first thing I notice is the line of Modded PCs. They look pretty cool! Some of them are even running benchmarks. Nvidia have their own stand in the corner, AMD are there too, As well a few game companies.
I got to play Farcry on maximum settings. The competition was to beat the level and win a splinter Cell hat. I kept getting gunned down by a helicopter and gave up. I did however get given a free Splinter Cell T-shirt (complete with three green lights on the back)
At the next stand I see Call of Duty. I begin playing it, when the guy behind the stand (who later turns out to be one of the developers) shows me the game running next to it (on a £3000 Alienware Laptop) Its Call of Duty: United Offense. Beta code!
There were two missons, British and Russian. The first mission takes place inside an aircraft. Outside our allies are flying in formation. Suddenly The anti-aircraft artillery explodes all around us, and the enemies start flying in.
I'm ordered to take command of a gun, and thats when all hell breaks loose. After firing for a few moments, one or two of our crew members get gunned down, and I'm ordered to take the tail gun. I nail about 10 or so planes, all the while the plane is getting hammered to bits. Something catches fire and I have to run down past my gunners to shut off the fuel valve before the whole thing explodes.
Its great fun!
Near the end of the mission the plane is practically falling apart. There are Huge holes in the hull, and The whole plane is shaking so much I cant aim my weaponry.
I open the jammed bomb bay doors, and I get to watch the bombs fall down and hit their target.
A fire breaks loose in the tail, and Just as I'm about to put it out the whole tail end of the plane comes off. I might have even fallen off the plane myself But the words "Mission Completed" appear.
It was quite good. The demo will probably be released soon I guess.
After that I go back to playing the original COD when suddenly all the power goes off. Almost every PC in the Modfest is down. (except for the alienware laptop. Which has a battery) My only guess is that the overclocked custom PCs in the Expo sucked all the electricity dry!
Power soon returned, and I'm pretty sure the Announcer said that the BBC were arriving to film.
Enough was enough though. I had to get my memory. I pick up a leaflet, which has some amazing deals on it. Half price 512MB Ram for £40? reduce from £80!
I ended up getting Double the Memory at the price of 256 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Not to mention the freebies I got my hands on:
AMD 64 Keyring
AMD mousepad
AMD pen
AMD 64 Sticker
Call of Duty T-shirt (the words: "In war, No-one fights alone" on the back)
Splinter Cell T-shirt
Doom3 booklet
Doom3 Sticker
Far cry demo
I'll have to make sure to turn up next year. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Comments
No, he had YOU worked up.
if i had to guess i'd say the one with the hang-glider going down the valley and the boat coming up the river below. Either that or the demo mission where 2 helicopters come at you with troops in them and the osprey comes by.

Maybe its the one on the carrier deck. I dunno, there's too many helicopters in that game.

That was the one. I tried to throw a nade at it from my handglider but it doesnt explode if it hits the water. How pathetic <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I also ended up getting killed by the helicopter.

I would killl me a man for the Joint-Ops t-shirt given to the beta testers with a sniper in a gilly suit that says "He cheats, so why shouldn't you?".
