Its possible the animation just skipped, and you are actually making the bite. You could test it by chomping a res tower by making individual clicks, counting the number of chomps it takes, and then chomping it with the button held down and see if there is any difference.
If there is no difference, then obviously its the animation skipping. Also I highly recommend taking advantage of the search feature in this forum, you'd be shocked at the amount of problems that constantly keep getting asked about but have been answered 2.5 million before by people far more knowledgeble then me.
Also, I would try cutting and pasting your autoexec.cfg and config.cfg and userconfig.cfg files out of NSP, join an NS game and see if the problem still presents itself after a complete settings refresh.

i did something similar to your last suggestion, system restore to 2 days prior of this error. it completely fixed it. i think the problem was i modified a bounch of things in the consol, like ex_interp , cmdrate, updaterate, and you know... the works...
do you know which consol command could have caused this?
anybody have an idea?
