Anyone Played The Suffering?

I just picked this up, and wow, the first couple levels scared my pants off. I gets a little better once you get a weapon, but no the less, a freaky game.

Any screenies? I like to watch pics and imagine how the game would be, because I can't play games that scare me too much... I don't want to get heart attacks this young <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Yeah, i played this through a while ago. While it's nowhere near as scary as a number of other games, it does have it's moments. But on the whole it's a pretty satisfying action game. It does suffer from one or two minor bugs however, including the comedy Devil May Cry floating when you fire your guns in mid-air and the speech cutting out mid-sentence in the archive pages.

Also, the inventory system is poorly organised, and all the scraps and notes you get along the way are hard to distinguish between, and the map function is virtually useless since the game is pretty linear and it takes forever to load the map screen.

But anyway, good game, i took the evil ending, it's funnier. Finding other inmates then transforming into the beast and tearing them to shreds. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Apparently this game has "the best shotgun....ever!".
If I see it on X-Box then I plan to pick it up.

By far the best weapon is the dual revolvers. They pack a punch and have a pretty good rate of fire, small clip size though.

And thanks Killymagee, as some of you may have noticed, i like survival horror games. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I bothers me that I was sitting there thinking:

    "WTH is he smoking?"

"HOW does this compare to Death Match Clasic? (aka Quake for HL)"

then I ralised, DMC would be devil may cry....

Hrm, I dont know what you played it on esuna, but on pc it ran just fine and I havnt seen any bugs as of yet. Additional, screenshots might not be appropritae for these boards, as it can get rather gory at times.

Look around thier site (its all in flash or something similar) THey got some screanshots and and stuff.

edit: also, did anyone else find the insanity mode rather useless? Most of the time its alot better to just use guns.

Oh god Thansal why did you have to say that. Ignorance is bliss. Now I have to feel like an idiot for thinking he meant Death Match Classic as well.

    Great...
