A Political Flash Game?

Warning: Controversy ahoy!
O.k, after playing this to completion, I still don't know what to think of it. I can only conclude that John Kerry asked for this to be made in order to appeal to "our" generation and you know what? It just might have worked.

This clearly isn't meant to be a game so much as a piece of Anti-Bush propaganda (well it IS called the anti-Bush game), due to both the shoddy control scheme (friction anyone?) and the regular breaks from playing to brainwash you.

The "brainwashing" segments are actually quite interesting (to a point) if you read them, and although they contain some very biased opinions, they make a lot of good points, i.e, Bush sucks.

Yes, this is truly a piece of internet wierdness. It is at the same time very rude, quite funny in places, and yet carries a serious message.

I have no idea how people are going to react when I finally get on with it and post the bloody link, but I can tell a lot of people are going to simply say "crap" within the first 30 seconds and close the game, while others are going to play it to completion and then say "crap". For this reason, I have compiled the following list of reasons I was strangely compelled to finish this game:

-It's anti-Bush
-The story, y'know? I wanted to see how it ended!
-Darth Rumsfeld. Come on, you've got to find that at least remotely funny.
-The bizarre end-of-level-bosses
-**** CHENEY ROBOBEAST, ENGAGE! (you'll see)
WHAT? The forum censor's the D-word? But it's his NAME!
-Teletubbies try to blow up Washington

So to conclude; I found it funny in a retarded sort of way, you'll probably hate it, just click the damn link.

WARNING, CONTAINS EXTREME BAD LANGUAGE, ANIMATED VIOLENCE, AND SOME ADULT MATERIAL. CONSIDERABLY NOT WORK-SAFE, AND REALLY REALLY CONTROVERSIAL. i think that covers it

The Anti-Bush game

(this will take you a good 15 minutes to complete, set some time aside)

Feel free to move this to the discussion forum if you consider it too controversial for off-topic.

I feel a sense of dread as I click the "post new topic" button.....

*edit* Initial reactions from IRC are not as bad as feared...

Also, play it for the characters. Ranging from He-Man to Mr. T to a certain Messiah who we're all familiar with, they're comedy gold.

I might add that the scene with Jesus and an actor relevant to the same person is absolutely hilarious.

Most of it is good stuff, yer.

Ahh yes, I love this and the emogame. Hilarious.

The part about America's national debt is rather sobering, however.

That was so disturbing, it's liable to hurt the Kerry campaign more than it helps it.

"Teenangst is railing against the president just cause you're a teenager and you think everything's going to **** and you have a really idealistic pov. Also your daddy didn't hug you or something like that.

The patriotic montage with Hulk Hogan and his theme makes it worth playing alone. Poetic.

EDIT: Just completed it. What an epic game! I loved all the non-sequitur boss fights, the rocking music and those little political fact-notes that actual kept my interest. Bravo!

not "not Funny" in the "OMG HOW COULD YOU LAUGH AT A HORRIBLE THING LIKE THAT!"

its not funny in the sense of it not being amusing.

I find nothing humourus about voltron sodomising the statue of liberty.

and seeing how as these people constantly use some one analy mastering some one else for 'humour', I tihnk I will pass this time.

Its not a political comentary, it is not political humour, it is not political at all.

its just 'omg bush sux, lets throw in voltron b/c that wuld make it funy'

Aside from all the controversy and the theme of the game, it is a very well made flash game, must have taken quite a long time to put together. I do not agree fully with the game's points, but I am a rather large fan of Howard Stern, and he has been getting alot of crap from the FCC lately.

So I rather enjoyed this game.

This game is all well and good and makes a lot of good valid points, except...John Kerry will make a difference? Heh not likely. If you care about the future of this country you will vote for the third party, so maybe in 20, 30 years they will have enough influence to make a differnece in modern day politics.

I don't think the people that made the game think that Bush's policies ****ing freedom in the *** is funny either.

The statue of liberty is just that. A statue.

The idea of someone actually violating people's rights is a little more disturbing.

It's a bit like the difference between burning a flag and actually shelling towns in Iraq.

    yarrrrr

    misunderstanding me!

It is not the fact that it is the statue of liberty.

it is their constant use of analy mastering people for humour.... it just aint funny (in the sense of.... was that suposed to be funny? did I miss something here? or the ever clasic: WOW that was stupid!)

I have no problem with anti patriotisim (flag burning, desecrating national monuments, mocking our stupid prez... its all part of freedome of speach)

I have problems with people that use ANYTHING for a cheap laugh (and especialy when they can't do it well).

again, I got that far into the opening and killed the window b/c I could see where it was going from there (I have played the first emo game)

I'll never understand why politics seems to create such a rift among people who might upon meeting each other find that they have no real arguments.

In the end though, it is probably because I am as void of political gusto as the bottom of the Marianas trench is void of light.

You guys should simply take this game at face value, as a game. Have fun with it, enjoy the creator's use of flash (which was very good might I add) and leave it at that.

If you don't take this flash game with a grain of salt, you are going to end up seeing it as yet another marketing strategy for some faction's campaign. Another attempt to control your vote.

Personally I think that when it comes to voting, we are ants, and as such I find it pointless. But if somehow you find politics to be that incredibly important to you, or more to the point, you believe your point of view to be infinitely superior, maybe this thread is something you should avoid.

Yeah, that pretty much says it all- you'll never find a more "the system sucks" "corporate america sucks" "america sucks" "bush killed my dog" group of people in America.
