    <!--QuoteBegin-kavasa+Jun 3 2004, 05:12 PM--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (kavasa @ Jun 3 2004, 05:12 PM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Ok, attached is a screenshot, with the relevant sprites emphasized. The blue thing is my crosshair overdrawn with blue lines so it's easier to see (the one I actually use is hard to see in the screenshot) and the green blood sprites overdrawn in bright green. Going back htrough the combat demos, it looks like most of the near-kills would place most of that pentagon of pellets above the skulk, so that's consistent. And the pattern was indeed 100% consistent over time. I compared five screens taken from shots made without moving, and all the blood spatters matched up.

    So, there you have it. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
    Yep. Whenever you fire against an alien structure, you'll notice the same blood pattern every round. The bullet hole decals shown on walls don't represent the spread, but rather the only time you can see it is if you do something like in the screenshot below.

    But... how do we know that's what the server gets?

    For all we know, the server could think it's just a shiza load of LMG bullets!

    That being the case, they should move the spread a bit lower and to the left, so it's actually where you're pointing it.

    Until they do, custom crosshairs for the win.

    Seriously? They should fix that. It shouldn't spread out too much, but there is an angle to these things. I'd think the pattern would be at least a little bigger by the time it got to the end of your average Long Hallway.™

    I love spreading weapons.
    If you want railguns play another game.
    And remove the pistol!

    what it should be is random like a shotgun. Some people will have or are gonner have crosshairs that basicly have the spread on which will bring an unfair advantage to them (aka cheating).

    To be honest, if you're aiming individual pellets, you have ISSUES. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Just aim a little down and to the left of your actual target for best bullet impact.

    Yeah, I think I'm going to slightly offset my shotty crosshair to more accurately show where my shots are going to hit.

    But seriously, there's nothing wrong with useing a custom crosshair. It's cheating to design your own crosshair? Where do you people come up with this stuff?
