    A couple of months ago, I had difficulties deciding on if to get this or Prince of Persia. Most reviews made BG&E sound like a slightly weaker Zelda, and the majority of friends recommended PoP, so I went with that. After completing it in 6 hours, I kind of regret it. :/

    I played BG&E on my PIII 733mhz with 512mb of RAM and a GeForce 4 MX... And it ran pretty okay, except for a few choppy places. But otherwise, it went just fine on a lower resolution. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Well, I've not tried the PC version yet and I run an Athlon 64 3200 with 1 gig PC3200 DDR memory as well as a radeon 9800... so I'm not a good benchmark. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I think it's the GC version for me, I don't have to get another PC game that I have the requirements for, but I can't run well.

    Sorry to bump this back up again... wait, who am I kidding? No I'm not. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Anyway. I tried out the PC demo. Cranked the resolution up and got a slideshow, even with my specs. Then I remembered I had set default settings to use AA and AF. As soon as I cranked those back down, it worked perfect and looked absolutely incredible. It definitely reeks of a console game being too straight-ported to the PC, but if that's your only option, go with it. It's beautiful. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Also... I'm in need of decorations for my cubicle once I start work. I've been collecting marketing promos from my current job as we get them - I've acquired a small Halo PC stand-up, reserve boxes for Far Cry and Doom 3, a partial floor display of Far Cry, and will soon recover a floor display for City of Heroes.

    There are many people here who may have interesting connections, so I'm asking for your help to do the impossible. Can anyone help me track down Beyond Good and Evil promo material that I might add to my collection? whether it be a small placard for a store or a poster in a magazine, I'd love to have something indicative of my unhealthy obsession for this game somewhere in the mix. I imagine none of these exist anymore, but you never know....

    Found a promo poster on eBay just now, but sadly shipping is a rip-off. Ah well. Bid anyway. I suck <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    But the Jamaican Rhinos! <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I thought that was rather... strange at first, too. Not a thing that should get in the way of you continuing on, though. You'll see plenty of animal type characters, as most in the game are (for art purposes, not literally) a cross between some sort of animal and humans. If Peyj were the only one, it'd be weird, but in the scope of a larger story where the entire population is divided like this, it works -much- better.

    I just started playing this and it's really good. It's like zelda but more fun, and with a more interesting atmosphere.

    If you haven't played it yet, go check it out.

    aye, it's a great game, and one people REALLY need to check out if they're into action/adventure games.

    Here's hoping to it getting a sequel :X

    One thing I like about it in particular is that all the little side quests and diversions in the game are a ton of fun. For instance, taking pictures of all of the life-forms on the planet is something you would think would become tedious, but never does. The creatures are so odd and beautiful, and the mechanics of photographing them are so seamless and elegant that every time feels like scavenger hunts did when I was 6.

    truly awesome game. cartoonish but with a somewhat dark plotline. and if you like it, also play Psychonauts. very similarly awesome. it's on the short and easy side, so no excuse for not finishing it! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    Whoa that was quite a thread resurrection, but boy I was surprised to see a thread about that game I liked sooooo much! I didn't think that so many people here loved it too <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> I bought it about a year ago and I was surprised to see how nice the graphics were (especially with that blur effect) much nicer than more recent games. Aside from some weird camera angles the game was pure awesomeness! The music is amazing and fits with the different moods during the game (like that sad scene in the lighthouse in the middle of the game :'''() and although it may look like a childish game at first, even "older" people can enjoy it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> Man, I wish they make a sequel of this... although I doubt there will be <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

    Don't worry, there are many languages shipped with the game (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and some more if I recall correctly, and you can select a new language every time you start the game). They also have subtitles in all languages. It may not seem very useful for you guys though ^^ but I'm learning German since a few years now and that game along with subtitles was a good tool to practice oral comprehension with subtitles as backup <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> I believe the game's "real" language is French since it's been developed in France, but I've heard every version was very well translated and acted. I might be wrong though heh.

    LONG LIVE BG&E!!!!

    EDIT:

    Concerning the hope of seeing a sequel: I've just checked the Wiki page about BGE and there's hope:

    Source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyond_Good_&_Evil_(video_game)
    <!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->
    The game was developed by Michel Ancel, the creator of Rayman at Ubisoft's Montpellier studios in France. The game was reviewed highly, and was considered noteworthy for its immersiveness, voice acting, and musical score. However, unfortunate timing of the release against other titles led to disappointing sales. The game was intended to be the first part of a trilogy of games, but the game's poor sales placed those plans on hold. Michel Ancel has stated his desire to produce a sequel to the game but reports claimed that Ubisoft were unsure at the time, if they were prepared to publish a sequel to the franchise due to the sales of the first title.[3].

    In March 2005, however, French gaming site Jeux Expo reported a rumour that production of Beyond Good & Evil 2 had begun with Ancel at the helm.[4]. Nothing was heard of it since, and as of early 2007 no official announcement has been made by Ancel or Ubisoft. However, the 25th November 2006 at the video games live concert in London, Michel Ancel and Christophe Heral made an appearance. Michel Ancel was asked if a sequel to the game will be made. Ancel answered:

    "Me and Christophe are working together to see if this could be possible...so maybe."[5]

    If anyone has a Frys' Electronics nearby look for this box:

    <img src="http://users.adelphia.net/~djlink128/UbisoftBox.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    That's right, 3 great games for PC only for $10. I was fuggin' aroused when I saw the pack, and I was only looking for BGaE.

    I love the game, and I've beaten it 3 times on GameCube, twice on PC and once on PS2...

    I highly advise not playing the PS2 version of the game. It's really buggy. The controls went whack several times and would sometimes just stop responding. Worst of all I've fallen through the geometry several times that prevented me from going anywhere so I had to reset.
