Geforce 4 Ti 4600

piece of s**t
Okay I bought my Ti 4600 almost a year ago and I can finally say that I'm fed up with it. It cost me 200 dollars, and I've had to send it back twice now because of it breaking.
Oh yeah, and I just recently bought an ATI 9200 for only $50 dollars and my benchmarks are A LOT better and the performance is by far a lot better. This was my first Nvidia card, and it will definitely be my last.
Okay well here's what I'm wondering. WTH should I do with it? I've thought of selling it on ebay, but thats the last thing I'd want to do. Do any computer sites take in refurbished parts and maybe trade something else with me? I just don't want my 200 dollars to go down the drain, even though it pretty much already has....

Why don't you try a local comp shop?
I seriously hate nvidia.
Don't know I guess you got a bunk card, but I love mine. All I can recomend is to get some patches for it.
Anyway my first real gaming vid card was a ti4200 with 8x and 128DDR...still using it today. never given me problems. Lesson learned? Don't judge a vendor by 1 video card.
Same here. Got mine the first week it was out; still using it now, and it works great.
Is it possible that the hugely differing opinions of NVidia cards is due to the fact that different people are using cards made by different manufacturers?
From what I hear from ATi users sometimes they don't even bother giving support for a whole series, but hey the bench higher on release right?
DirectX is totally backwards combatable. This is the reason you can play games made in the DirectX 2 days with DX9. To say a card uses DX8 AND DX9 is redudant. Any card that uses DX9 also uses DX8.
Drivers: Nvidia beats ATI
Performance: ATI wins by a tiny bit on most games IMO
Oh, and I hate NVidia because they come out with new cards that look sweet and are too big to fit in my comp (physically to big). But then ATI comes out with something a bit better, so life is once again good.
That is all.
That....owns....
Ive only heard good things from the ti series.
My first Geforce 4 Ti4200 was made by PNY (french company nuff said) and it blew up after 5 months. It took a lot of hassle getting a refund of the **** but I eventualy did and went a bought a G4 Ti4800 made by ASUS and it's still running after a year with no problems.
My brother has a PNY and it works wonders. Then again I do live in France...
I personally have an ABit and it also works well.
My friend has a Radeon 9800 Pro and it's broken 3 times in the 2 months he's had it. Strange.
So naturally, I'm avoiding PNY like the plague now.
I would suggest a more creative way to destroy it or... sell it to an idiot :-)
Assuming it is bad lol :-)
It has yet to cause me any problems
Throw it at Nemesis Zero tbh
