<div class="IPBDescription">Your Name On High</div> Alright, I am just about broken down the lowest point of sadness after seeing a whole lot of topics with people not liking the game, or having some issues about it they want resolved. These are all good things and promote fixes, but I mean cmon, its a game, have fun with it not look for the bad things! So, I have made this topic to...

<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>SAY THAT NATURAL SELECTION IS MY FAVORITE MULTIPLAYER GAME EVER!</span>

This game has so much to it, feeling, graphics, sound, and gameplay. Yes I said graphics because of the atmospheric feel of the levels. It's just creepy. You dont know how many times I have **** my pants screaming when I just creep down a hall as a marine and then a skulk jumps out and just bites me to death. I love that.

Sure, sometimes it seems that aliens are weaker and marines have the advantage. It could be the other way around. But no matter what, winning team or loosing team, I can always have fun playing Natural Selection, bugged or not, unbalanced or not. The thrill of being commanded by a higher authority and then doing his bidding well, IE killing a skulk when I have secured Port Engine, and then having him say over the voic comm

"Good job Recoup!"

It just makes me sparkle. Another thing is when I singlehandedly take out res nodes with electical power as a gorge, build a res tower over it, and then secure it with OC's. The team has just scored another res node! I tell you what, people may find some things annoying about the game, but I absolutely love it and it doesnt matter if they trick it up a bit to meet some of the peoples constant requests for lowering damage here, upgrading life here, making this less constly, NS will still be NS and it will still be fun, unless of course it is impossible to win as one team.

Anyway, this topic is just here to make Flayra or other people see that there are still some of us who like the game for what it is and still appreciate that you guys actually took the time to sit down and say "Ok, we are gonna make a kick-a** game, and this is what it's gonna be like."

In short, thank you NS game designers, for all your hard work. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Some people have become so used to the game and some even flame it so much, that they take all the features in this game for granted. I live in a rich european country with access to safe water, good food and good living circumstances. People who live here take it for granted, but I still am very thankful that I received such conditions. I know there are lots of people who aren't properly fed.

    I feel the same way about NS, although I have become used to it, sometimes I'm very thankful for this GREAT game that has let me experience great moments. I've even donated. (although the main reason was for the icon <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->) There aren't many games like NS that has touched my heart like this. The joy and passion I got for this game is gold and it continues to rise in value.

    Just my little contribution so you'll not feel alone <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    HA! This brings back the memories of flayra loving sessions back in 1.00. Then the pathetic whining set in....

    I cant stand it when ppl complain about this game. I came from the DoD community - where the dev team are possibly the stupidest, most ignorant and arrogant lot ever who took their own game and sent it too CS like hell. To come here and see refreshing, innovative ways of programming and testing, with extensive community involvment in the game - I just cant describe it in words.

    The game rawks. The community rawks. The moderators rawk. The developers rawk.

    Someone with mapping skillz (not me) make a map based off of that secret room, the "Hall of N00bs" or whatever it's called. Just put the dev teams' pictures all over it, with big flashy lights <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> .

    Yeah don't forget the people who scream like a little girl about the bad things because they love the game so much. Then theres the people who get a new patch and immediately start looking for things that are crappy\buggy\broken\something they think they have the end all idea for that will make it better\etc etc. Then they come post, get shot down, stop playing NS and miss out on a great game.

    My brother always whines and calls me and idiot when I look through a games problems (especially a beta lmfao, I mean come on) and thinks he can always do better (wheres your game sissy?). I like to give the game a chance, even if there are still problems after I beta test it (*COUGH* SWG *COUGH*). But, if problems that are obviously annoying the entire community after a game is out of beta are not addressed I just give up on the dev team and start saying they are Sofa Kings of We Todd Ed. I think the NS dev team has done very well addressing peoples concerns\fears almost TOO well.

    The main reason people complain is because they think their favourite multiplayer game could be so much better, IF this, and IF that...
  • GrendelGrendel All that is fear... Join Date: 2002-07-19 Member: 970Members, NS1 Playtester, Contributor, NS2 Playtester
    It's extremely nice to hear praise. Some people think they get a right to moan about 2 years+ of efforts because they have DL'd a free game and spent a few days playing it.

    None of the development team mind feedback, in fact they welcome it. <b>Feedback</b> allows NS to improve. But a constant stream of criticism does nothing but demoralise.

    So thank you for appreciating the work that has been put in. <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I love those guys. I swear NS has not only made me spend hours playing it on end, but also inspired me into writing more stories. The one I submitted at school got best story, and I got best author award, and usually for inspiration I would sit and play NS for a looooooooong time (I mean from when I get home at 4:30 at school, up until 12:45 at night. That is a LONG time playing NS)

    And yes, the sparkle kicks ****.

    In fact if I had a little something called "money" I would send off a good 30% to the team. (That way I can shoot off those neato rockets and get a cool icon)

    I just thought that I would create a topic so that a wandering NS game designer would stroll by and then sigh after seeing a lot of topics saying "I hate this, we should do this", or, "That idea sucked, it just dosent balance" or "Why couldnt we have just done THIS!" and I imagine he is very tired. Sure, it is good, its a good thing to comment on the points of a game and I appreciate the people who spend their time doing it, but please, people who add little things like "NS sucks" or "NS is starting to blow" in their posts need to be straitened out.

    Yeah, true. I live in the "good ole US of A"... yeah... United States of **** I think. We MAY have it good, but others have it better cause they don't go messing around in others business! SO DON"T MESS WITH FLAY'S BUSINESS! Do not go messing up the game all you flamers, wankers, tards, and llamas! Those of you that make THOUGHT OUT and INTELIGENT suggestions, my hat's off to you! You keep the dying tradition of thinking alive!

    This game, and it's dev team (and Flay) have put up with SOO much BS from some people... I personaly think they deserve the Nobel Prize just for putting up with it without going insane! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    omg, why would u shoot a cute lil gorge.

    I would also like to thank the Ns dev team, but moreover, i would like to find out and personally congradulate the guy who thought up the gorge and the guy who modeld it. ns would be nothing with out that cute liittle gorge. In the midst of a firece battle after seeing so many horrifc deaths and bloody gore everywhrere the only thing that keeps u sane is that cute lilttle gorge that you spot every once and a while, you see it and it blinks its cute little eyes up at you and you just want to give it a big hug, and when you someone trying to kill it you jump in its way to protect it (yes even when your a marine). anyways, does anyone know who made up the gorge. I love them so much.

    this is how it should be ein battle

    <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo--> (oh crap)

    p.S. why dont people gorge rush more its like a shottie rush but worse.

    NS IS MY FAVORITE MULTIPLAYER GAME EVER!

    Seriously, I have played since 1.03, longer than any game I have ever bought that has multi-player. Usually the others, I just get bored of them. But this one, nothing is ever boring. Even if it's the same old strategy, something new comes at you and you always have a different game. Yes, I agree, that right now the game doesn't shine in some areas anymore due to balancing. The skulk bite thing is one thing... But I degress.

    The idea of asking for a sg on bast, your team moving in on the engine hive, their only one and you ARE the one that is pushing the line back. Skulk around the corner and you blast him. You then run into the hive and hide for a bit to gather your nerve, but you remember you're parasited. So, under the hive, you see two skulk comming at you. You aim at the one comming at you. YOU MISS! You then start moving in that little vent area, tryign to survive, pushing the medpack call button like crazy. A second shot, you hit a part of him and he gets a bite on you. The comm says he can't drop you meds, crap. A third shot and his attempt at a second bite, bam. You got him. You turn to your right remembering that other skulk comming at you and he crests the little hilled area and blast him to a pulp. That is what NS is about, team work with fierce, quick moments of combat. That is the reason I love this game and will continue to play it as long as it stays the way it is.
