    it's defiantely playable... there are some very good players still on 56K - but if you intend to play games online much, it's worth investing in a decent connection

    but it isn't essential <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Being a 56k player myself i know how much of a hassle to keep steam games updated it is. I find that if i keep all steam games updated it makes it easier later on when i wish to play one.

    As for NS on steam its the most playable of all the HL mods on 56k with the exception of Sven-CoOp, as with all games on 56k he will notice a disadvantage compared to the other LPB players but its not a huge one.

    As for his GFX card i play on a GF2MX400 <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> really old bit of kit works nice tho minimum of 40-70FPS at all times and thats with outdated drivers since i cant update em <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    All in all i he should be able to play it well, tho if hes going to play CS id recommend he goes on a HPB only server, Jolt have quite a few.
