Valve will continue to support the original cs long after the Source Engine version has been released. Not only will there be thousands of player who wont upgrade, many will prefer the original and not be bothered by its inferior engine.
What would be AMAZING is seeing dozens of real-looking skulks (antlion type detail) just swarming at you... Shoot back with some friends, watch some ripped apart with their teeth that actually... bite, get that shotgun out and blast them a few feet back, and changing pants whenever a fade comes by
Not to mention a hive that could look better than an orange ball attached to the ceiling
That sure is worth upgrading your computer isn't it
Bottom line, if you consider computer gaming as something you will be doing a lot of then invest some cash into it. If you just play once in a while to kill some time then don't worry about it, there's always snood and Popcap.

So true, and very well said. Gaming is defnitely a growing industry, and I have to say that alot of it will shape the future of where computers go to. Every day, PC manufacturers come out with "new" components that make everything more and more powerful. Soon enough, it will be the gaming industry that dictates where more power is needed, and when it is needed.
Damn I can't wait for that day
Hell I don't even live in a house!
And by that time there might be HL2 mods out. Hmm. Maybe you're right.
Not net-code wise, you know, there is a big reason HL is as big as it is, other than the fact that it's easy to mod for the engine: the netcode.
Im not convinced BH correctly balances anything. Its a system that assumes players will pick up and use bunnyhopping as easily as any other technique. Clearly this isnt happening.
Far more players can aim and dodge well as a marine than those who can bunnyhop to a equal standard.
And yes. If videogames are your one main hobby like they are for some of us, you end up spending money on it.
Popcap Games rocks the house for cost-efficient time killing, almost too well if you ask me. Popcap's business model works about the same as a crack dealer's. If you just download the demos, when the demos run out, you'll be tossing and turning and spazzing out until you buy the real deal EVERY TIME.
There's already a topic discussing the possibility, the possible advantages, and also the possible disadvantages of a HL2 port. Seeing that there has been no kind of official announcement regarding such a port, I'd call that sufficient.
