A song of ice and fire
I was reading through Coils webby when I found his favorite book list. I read that he appreciated them for their descreptions of the world around them and what not so I have the perfect series for you, its called A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin, his only bestseller series I think but it is really good, its story is the beginings of war in the world and its description span from every peak of the world, each chapter a diffrent character in a diffrent place and a diffrent view, it is marvelous:
