Need some help
I haven't done much research on this yet, but looking to buy something that will:
-allow me to watch TV on my computer by connecting a coaxial cable
-record video
-connect to my tv so i can watch my recorded shows there, if possible watch recorded shows from my computer on the tv while doing other things on the computer (if this isn't possible/incredibly expensive, ignore this)
-display what is on my computer screen on the tv as well if i prefer at the time
-preferably, comes with remote control

Specs:
Athlon 64 3200+
ATI Radeon 9800XT
Audigy 2 ZS
Logitech Z-640 5.1 Speakers
1 gig RAM

What do I need to buy, and what brands/models do you suggest?

I'm fairly certain theres this boxy looking device which lets you do that (my friend had one, I never saw him do TV on the comp, though) otherwise you're gonna have to buy an All In Wonder card.

You have an ELITE system, MrPink.

You will need a TV tuner card and some cables. That's about it. Some video capture cards have tuners on them, so you may look at some hauppage cards. They seem to be the favorite.

you can already do this with your video card's s-video out

vivo/tivo boxes are common in usa, however it looks like you are looking for a tv tuner card with av output. these are about $50 us, very approximate, i dont know the prices there.

it looks like you have a nice system so it should run fine, even while something else is on. also with the right software you can buffer it so you can pause live shows, fast forward over commercials etc, must have

If the Video Card has TV/Out, which most do, you can set your TV as a second monitor.

With a 9800, I'm pretty sure Mr. Pink has the capability. (And I want your system Mr. Pink. It pwns the ponce off mine. )

What I'm thinking I'm going to do is rig the TV as my second monitor through my vid card, then buy the ATI Pro TV Tuner and hook that up.
