Ati Trade Up Program
<div class="IPBDescription">just found out about this!!</div> Read this if you own an ATI card or are considering purchasing one. <a href='http://www.atitech.ca/buy/traderebate/tradeup.html' target='_blank'>http://www.atitech.ca/buy/traderebate/tradeup.html</a>
This could make all the difference in buying a new ATI card over anything else, as though I didnt have reason enough.

Maybe I'll upgrade eventually...
Ever since i started building my own systems back in 1995 or so, i've accumulated a mass of useless cards, parts and a variety of other junk. None of it of any use. My most common item is the 4mb ATI Rage, of which i have about 3-4 of. I can't bring myself to throw old equipment away when i upgrade, but it never goes into a new machine, it just gathers dust fitted in old cases in the spare room. With this plan it's possible to allow me to upgrade, get a discount and stop cluttering up my spare room with useless parts. XD
"ATi currently do not sell hardware outside the North American Continent...blah blah blah legalese."
NICE ONE, GG WORLD.

Id email them, I have no idea, and dont even currently own a ATI
*huggles GeForce 4 Ti4600*
*edit* just noticed...they give you more credit than the card is worth (from online retailers), in some cases. i think it's a rather cool idea and an added incentive for people to get top-of-the-line products.
i don't think they'll offer a trade-in program for older cards.
1) trade-in cards are probably going to be repackaged and resold. Cards that aren't for sale anymore will probably not be included.
2) the trade-in program is a promotion to increase the volume sales of high-end cards. low-end cards won't give them any profit margin.
I'll be getting rid of my GeForce FX 5600 256mb soon then...no softshader...friggin idiots...

America has practically 1000x more internet users then any other country. There was some page that had country stats, and listed every country, with every bit of info you could imagine on it. On 'Internet Users', USA had number 1 with canada or the UK as number 2, and the USA was millions and millions ahead of number 2. Until it's profitable to sell out of the country (and I highly doubt the fact that the majority of you are total **** about America helps) they won't.

That's pretty funny. Ever heard of some little country, oooh, what's it's name again, Korea? While they do have less than the US, they have the highest % of population who use the Internet for more than an hour a day, topping 60% of their total population.
ATi couldn't market that there?

the problem is actual NUMBER of people, not percentage.
and tbh, you don't need a radeon 9800 xt to play starcraft, CS, or any number of MMORPG's that the koreans like.

He's got a point, not to mention the fact that ATi in located in Canada, which makes it pretty annoying to be shipping cards to and from Korea with all of the restrictions these days.
