No I Don't Want To Set This As My Homepage!
<div class="IPBDescription">How do I stop Iexplore from ever asking?</div> I'm sure everyone knows it. You type a letter wrong in a website, and you're at a site that belongs to some advertising company or something along those lines. It doesn't have any content, it just has ads, lots of links to what you don't need, and when it closes it asks to if you want to make it your home page.
NO I do not want www.spamme.com as my homepage! I don't want you to ever ask! If I wanted it to be my homepage, I would set it myself!!
So... what setting do I make in Iexplore to change this? Turn off that annoying popup yes-no window? Is it even possible? Or am I gonna have to switch to Mozilla?

You don't.
Or you could always run a ad-ware, spybot scan that may or may not pick it up.
*Edit* The mozilla package and Firefox on its own are slightly diffrent in the fact that the Firefox that comes on its own is optimized to run faster and load faster, while the one in the package is just a bog standard one.
Anyway Firefox has a built in pop-up blocker, IE does not.
It also does Tab browsing which is rather clever, means you can select diffrent windows by the means of tabs at the top of the screen. Handy if you gonna open 50 diffrent ones.
Firefox also supports plugins, you can run java IRC clients by means of a plugin which work rather well. Aswell as many other plugins from built in download managers to built in java games.
Firefox also has a built in goggle bar, aswell as other search engines you wish to add eg a dictonary one.
You can also choose to remove the loading of images from a website handy if you are on a 56k like me.
All in all Firefox 10 IE 0.
The only problem with Firefox as far as i can see is that it does not support ActiveX which is a microsoft specfic thing, just means you will have to use IE for you windows updates.
Firefox is, essentially, Mozilla on crack.
And for those who care about speed, there ARE processor/OS optimized builds. The builds with the bug monitoring turned off run <b>faster</b> than Opera, more stably than IE, and are more feature-packed than either. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> Popup blocking is just one of the better ones.. no more being spammed by ad-windows visiting sites, yet you can still tell it to allow certain sites to pop windows. Like the NS forums here, with PM windows. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Seriously, you NEED to get off IE. Using what you're handed is for idiots.
Done - I was more or less forced to; some bug in IE (NOT A VIRUS - I scanned with NortonAV, Spywhatever, etc - nothing) didn't allow me to have more than one window open at the same time. So I switched to Netscape. I like it - don't see anything bad so far <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
-closing a tab takes you to the first tab, not the last selected: fixed with FLST extention.
-plug ins like Shockwave Flash require a normal program installation, can't just click install flash and done.
-right click menu a bit hard to learn if you are from an IE background.
other than that it is a solid browser and everyone should use it.

more like firefox is the wrapper for a completely rewritten gecko rendering system, but whatever
