What Causes Choke

<div class="IPBDescription">--read--</div> I have constant 60> choke. Everyone says change ur rates and i have. I tried all sorts to no effect. No problem till the latest beta, have reinstalled. Can custom sprites or models cause choke? ihave custom alien blood? However in the rr i have 100 choke. the specialists suffers no lag problems

What speed internet connection do you have? Give us some more info, your rate settings, RAM, processor etc.

Well i did only recently upgrade my computer

1.8 ghz
512 pc 400 ddr
Geforce 4
ADSL 512kb

Happens on all NS servers

Check your cl_cmdrate and your cl_updaterate. Anything below 20 usually causes major choke/lag.

For some reason I think the defaults are really low.

Also turn off your cl_allowupload and cl_allowdownload to 0.
