I'm running off a Planex BroadLanner BRL-04AR Router with the latest firmware (finally, <3 google) and have a 10/100M NIC. There are 4 PCs connected to it if you need to know.
For those who don't know, I've had troubles with my router that gave me very high latency. Meaning I can't play online, and stuff like that. But somehow my browser still works at the same speed as it still did like before (broadband)
I suppose this picture sums it all up in one go. Looks like the problem lies at router level. But I don't know exactly why it does that.

one test to make SURE its your router is to get a software bassed firewall and the next time you get a long case of this:
flip on the software firewall and plug your comp directly to the modem, run the tracert, if you still have problems:
**** out your ISP.

I have the firewall turned off, and connect through the router, same results.
When I attempt a direct connection to my ISP, I get perfectly normal pings.

I want you to NOT connect through the Router to see if you get the same problems or not.
and if you get good pings to your ISP then it is your ISP that is messed up, and not you.
call them and complain.

My router seems to stabilize its latency if I reset it. However, this only lasts for about 5 minutes, not even enough for a short game of Combat.
BUT if I do a full reset, the thing gets stable pings and keeps them for around 8 hours before finally being a piece of crap again.
Does this mean the router is having some sort of congestion problem with itself and the other computers? (I have 4 computers plugged into the router if you want that information)
