Oh it's possible. I've had Raven Shield for ages. At first I used my GF4MX and it run not too bad. I decided to try it on my new 9600 Pro, it ran better but the performance was poorer than I expected.

    Jeez 1.2 gigs of ram...

Try uninstalling then deleteing the folder competetly. Then re-install and download the latest patch for the game. They recently added a system that allows the game to update while you are in it (like Command and Conquer) and it was messing me about until I re-installed. Give it a go.

In both SP and MP the game worked fine for me, on XP, with a 9600 Pro. Puzzling <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Ya know what I've noticed? Lots of games leave the 9600 off the list. It confuses me to no end. On a related note, Raven Shield runs fine on my 9600.

Yeah, it should run just fine. I myself get about 90-120 fps on that game(unlike UT2k4, that uses the same engine. My GOD, RS keels me with atmosphere...and my fps with it pwns j00r fps)

Er, I've got a radeon 7900 and I can still play RVS reasonably well. The problem is more likely drivers than anything.

And I'm pretty sure the 9600 is exactly the same as the 9700, just a bit dumbed down (slower GPU, smaller pipe, etc.). Compatability with one should mean the same with the other. Same goes for 7900 and 7500.
